I don't like to doubt great ideas, but I have to side with Hinkle on this. There are some fantastic ideas coming out of Crossbeam, unbelieveable even. But they're ideas that would be hard for an experienced, well-funded developer to pull off. Pulling off one of these titles would be an accomplishment for anyone...but three? With no publisher yet? I'll be cautiously optimistic until proof actually surfaces...

funding inst a big deal if its a small team, and they are willing to work their asses off to make a fantastic game.
its when the companies get big and have lots of employes that cost becomes something to consider.

Hmm. Sounds cool, but then again, so did Fable.
I too, am cautiously optimistic.

I'm all for more Revolution developers, but the amount of press NIBRIS and Crossbeam are getting is odd. They are both unproven new development studios taking advantage of this period where there is a dearth of Revolution information. I will welcome them when they each release something more than concept art (and some fairly bad concept art at that), but until then, this isn't much better than purely speculative articles.

I'd say that the most of that concept are crosses the line between fairly and really bad. It looks like maybe one of the developers kids got ahold of his Wacom and started doodling. Concept Art is, by its very definition, suposed to be AWSOME.
Awsome, it is not.

cole you dont seem to know much do you.
early concept art isusually quite rough, and because most companies arnt big enough to have pre production, more cleand up, finalized concept art isnt done till later because visuals are the last thing that gets worked on when making games.

Exo, not only do you lack the ability to spell, but you're a freaking moron. "Concept art" refers to drawn up art that is *not representative* of the actual game. It has nothing to do with the real graphics of a video game. It's just fancy art meant to advertise the product.

exo... you may be right, but even quick rough sketches can look good... in fact I usually find the early conceptual sketches better then the final renderings because of there loose, free-flowing though process look.
Just because rough doesnt mean they have to be ugly or suck.
And by the way... I know many many things.

Merlin if you are so damn smart, when did I ever say that it had anything to do with the damn graphics?
Also, since you are so smart, I guess you would know that concept art is what is used for the modelers as reference. Where as promotional art is what’s used to advertise.
oh man, you are just the smartest.
