NIBRIS' Piotr Orlowski emailed 4cr and dropped an odd bit of news pertaining to their upcoming title
Sadness. Turns out, the game is to be displayed primarily in black and white. Bold move for the developer who
has nothing but concept art to show for their game. So have they dug too large a hole for themselves? Can gamers be all
that accepting of this direction in presentation?
"Nibris decided to follow Nintendo’s path,
which definitely fights the stagnation which has occurred in video games, and creates new trends. With this move, we
want to create a unique environment, which is only available in Sadness[...]"Tags: black, nibris, nintendo, revolution, sadness, white

This sounds awesome! It is good to see studios taking a 'risk' with the revolution even before it has come out.

even if it turns out to be a bad game, it really excites me to see developers trying new things and taking risks. i loved killer7 for example, but part of what was so great about it was how refreshingly different it was from most other games

THANK YOU! I too like to see new styles of gaming. That's one thing we will see with the revolution, you might be able to play alot of good games on the PS3/360 but if you want to play a whole new type of game with a different experience, you will turn to Nintendo. It would be sweet to see a game in the style of "Sin City" the movie, with the black and white and only certain colours accented.

I am willing to give the black 'n white style a shot: Like the above poster, I loved Sin City. Color can definitely be a stylistic choice rather than a technological one. I like the idea of a gothic horror game - brings up good memories of that one time I rented Eternal Darkness. I really ought to go buy that game....

Splinter Cell is played mostly in green and black (night vision), so this style shouldn't hamper gameplay.
