With the
bomb that Iwata
dropped back at GDC about Sega and Hudson being onboard with the Revolution's Virtual Console, Game Informer wanted
to take a look back at the two companies' past offerings in the video game industry to determine exactly what we can
expect to see from them come time the system launches. If anything, it's a nice history lesson for all you young
whippersnappers who were born after the 16-bit age of gaming and a tear-inducing bit of nostalgia and hope for the rest
of us. Who else wants to see a Bomberman build with online play?

I'm still curious on if DreamCast games will be included and if we'll be able to play games that weren't released in America.

There is NO way that Dreamcast games will be included because that system is too powerful to be emulated on Revolution's hardware.

Michael, we still have no idea how the revolution virtual console system will work. Hell, we don't even know the official specs of the revolution.
I'm sure it's safe to say that you're right, the dreamcast will be unemulatable on the revolution, but i bet there will be some DC games ported to the revolution and distributed over the virtual console.

The Dreamcast was a grand system, one of the best. But I don't see DC games being on the Virtual Console. Now...if we can get to talking about some Saturn games....that would be just plain awesome. I seriously doubt either of them, though. With no internal HDD, and even though it would be possible to use a gig+ thumb drive to hold games (in theory)...I doubt either would be available due to the technical issues surrounding saving the games. And if Nintendo goes the "only play online using flash ram" route with the VC, then of course, its near impossible for most all DC games...with only a few Saturn games being able to be placed on 512MB of flash ram.

Didn't the DC games have like, a Gig of memory? How would you store even one of those on 512 Megs of Flash Memory?

There is no way that the Revolution will emulate DC games on the virtual console, but the system could emulate them from the discs if the drive could read GD-ROM discs. But it wouls be sweet if the Rev could emulate DC and Saturn games. (NiGHTS, here I come!)

yes there can be dreamcast games on vc because you can also save it on a sd memory card and those hold up to 4gig plus nintendo earlier said that the wii may have an external hdd but i think that they wont come because that would be too long of a load time.
