Gamespot recently received a postcard from Kojima productions inviting them to a E3 press conference. The team over
there suspects that this invitation, which is located directly above this chunk of text should you have missed it, is
directly tied to an interview Kojima had with Japanese gaming mag Famitsu where the man himself revealed he was working
on a Revolution Wii title that would be a brand new IP and geared towards girls. Thankfully, there
isn't much time left to speculate and come close to this time next week, we'll all know for sure just what this
perplexing invitation is all about.

Can we please stop with the crossing out of the Revolution name and simply call it Wii? I know you're not happy about it but it's damn annoying seeing it everywhere on the web like it's a hilarious joke. It's already old, so please just call it Wii and get over it!

I agree, too. Call it Wii. That's the system's name.

And while we're at it, can we please stop substituting "Wii" for "we"? Not just this site, but practically every single one out there that reported on the new name.
My gracious thanks in advance
Andrew

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think that postcard looks "girl friendly" in any way. I would think that the overall feel of the postcard would hint at the overall feel of the game, so I doubt this is hyping up a "My Little Ponies: Assault on Moo-Moo Farm" type of game.

Every time someone talks about a game being "geared toward girls," I worry. I guess he means the girl gamer demographic, but it bothers me a bit that developers are trying to single us out. Honestly, if a girl's a real gamer, she enjoys the same kind of stuff that appeals to guys. C'mon. I like MGS as much as the next guy. Remember, XX is only one X away from being XXX, and we know the awesomest action heroes are called XXX-es. Umm... yeah, and... stuff. I'm not sure where I'm going with this discursive logic.
I suppose, though, what he COULD mean is something more actiony and tough, maybe a little gothic or fantastic, with a tough-as-nails herione. That'd be pretty cool. Just so long as she didn't turn into your average polygonal bimbo.

I think the Kojima making a game "geared towards girls" was taken out of context. Remeber this? http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/diec-2005/kojima-ds-spank-game-rumor-debunked-141159.php
Miyamoto was joking he could make a game about what Kojima know, ie, hitting on girls. It is interesting though how offhanded statements end up as conventional wisdom.

I also agree, stop crossing out the name Revolution, keep it there untouched.
Call me stubborn, but I will not call this system the 'Wii'.

Not to nitpick, but it's jsut 'Wii' not the "Wii'....
so when you say "but I will not call this system the 'Wii'."
Say
"but I will not call this system 'Wii'."
There ya go...No "the", "a", or any other thing that turns 'Wii' into __ 'Wii'.

Please do not call it the Wii. Call it its rightful name: The Revolution. Maybe if enough people just start ignoring Nintendo and never mention that horrid new name again, they'll change it back just so the packaging is less confusing, since nobody says the new name.
Please help make this a reality and continue to call Nintendo's next-gen console "the Revolution." Thank you.
