Duck Hunt 2 video
Here we have video of Duck Hunt 2, the Wii version of the...oh, forget it. Of course you know what Duck Hunt is. You're excited about it, shaking your arms and giggling like a little girl for every second that you think about it. We won't judge (but we'll insist that you watch this video).

Giggle! Giggle! I'm one of those guys who just nearly missed Duck Hunt. I'm of the kind that got a NES for christmas when the SNES nearly there (or maybe already there, I don't know). One of those who didn't know about all the different games and just marvelled at the technology of shooting ducks on a tv-screen :D
I sure hope you can unlock some sort of Dog Hunt-mode >D

Was this played with the gun attachment?
Does the dog come back in the single player mode???
Was this a virtual console game or a new title, if yes, what else is included??

Somehow I think an R.O.B. Wiimote adapter is not in the works, but I can't help but think of helping the sleep-walking doctor and using radishes to lure the bag guys into their pipe squishing demise.
Ah... the beauty that was Gyromite... kind of.

Point!
According to IGN, where this video obviously originated, this is just a "shooting demo" and is in no way indicative of the final Duck Hunt game.

This game was labeled "Remote Pointer Demo: Shooting". For all the people getting hyped that this is some actual release. IT'S A TECH DEMO. You were also shooting clay (like Mode C in Duck Hunt) UFO's, and Bullseyes in earlier rounds. Anyways, will you please update the post with info about this being NOT AN OFFICIAL RELEASE? So people don't flip out. This may very well end up being something downloadable using the Virtual Console, but it was just a demo in this form.

What's old is new again. I think we all just want to recapture the joy of our youth. Probably the smartest thing Nintendo could do to play to our nostalgia is to release Duck Hunt on a split DVD with Super Mario Universe.

To 12.
That would be awesome. Man if they do that, the nostalgia factor alone will make me wait in line for that baby. Imagine popping in that disk half colored for the new Mario game, the other for duck hunt; it would be too much.

Was this played with a light gun? or the Wii remote? I did not see this at E3, but red steel and other games that utilized the "aiming" features of the remote had the player aiming at the sensor bar and controlling like an analog stick, not aiming at the screen to target things as people had assumed/hoped. From this video it looks like that is the case here as well, but I can't say for sure.

14: The setup was just the Wii remote. The only place we saw the zapper attachment was behind glass.
