Well, according to Eiji Aonuma, by way of an interview conducted by magazine Electronics Gaming Monthly, the Twilight Realm has received a makeover and will now feature a vibrant set of colors, distinguishing itself from Hyrule in that way. No screenshots of the changed look have made its way onto the internet at the time of this post, so hopefully we'll see something pop up soon.

Yeah, this is true. I have the latest issue of EGM (the one with zelda on the cover and the still named "revolution") in it they do show you the new world. It reminds me of like trance or for some reason its kinda of advanced like, and the colors are indeed very vibrant.

I thought the black and white idea was excellent. The bit in Windwaker like that was stunning. I'm a bit miffed now.

I think I was the only one that missed wolf-link during the E3 show of Twilight Princess. I'm curious how you'd control the wolf with the wii-mote.

holy crap...
and to answer the first post, link's first transformation was quite like this one. in the third console zelda, link could travel to the dark world, the holy land that was defiled by ganon's use of the tri-force. however, on his first outing, he failed was transformed into a bunny. it seemed as though anybody who crossed the border would be transformed, and the normal denizens of the dark world were quite strange indeed. once he recieved the moon pearl and the magic mirror, he could keep his form in the dark world and return to the light world at will.
transformations were not seen again until majora's mask. when link was transported to termina, he fused with a mask there until he was helped by the mask salesman. here, he could transform into a zora, a deku scrub, and a gorgon at will. again, transformations were not to be seen for a while. until now.
man, i sound like such a tool sometimes.

Ermmm... The new saturated version looks very "Okami" influenced. Especially considering that game also features a wolf as the main character. I'm a big fan of the look, tho, so I'm happy to have both games.

Thanks so much for posting the image! I like the new coloration. The old gray version was cool too, but it felt so dark and moody... kind of like the Dark World in Metroid Prime 2. Color is good :)

I hate when people mess with people's names without asking. Call it a pet peeve, but I'm still going to call you "Derfy" now.
On topic: The new Twilight Realm does in fact look pretty. It just reminds me of that one comment when the DS Lite pictures were announced... Something like "I'm going to buy one, have sex with it, then buy another."
Yay for Nintendo making sexy items. ;D

Since nobody else has mentioned it and there isn't a separate story to comment on, I'd like to say congratulations to Revolution Fanboy for finally coming to terms with our console's new name (even if it did take you until after E3 to make sure it wasn't a prank) by changing their domain name and the overall name of the website. I, for one, like this new style and welcome our new Wii overlords.

I think it would be pretty cool if at the beginning of the game it was completely black & white, and then as you progress more and more color is added.
Best of both worlds... both are very nice.
