Dubbed Pokemon Battle Revolution, it looks like tag-team battle is the emphasis this time around. Also, the game is to be able to utilize the upcoming Pokemon Diamond and Pearl versions to exchange correspondence via Wi-Fi and swap pokemon, along with displaying the 2D battles of the DS game on your TV in 3D through the Wii. Other features are mentioned, but using online translation tools doesn't give the most accurate descriptions, so in fear of reporting something false, we'll just leave the post at that.

Well that's cool I guess, the features atleast. More games is always good, and this will push the Wii off the shelf at christmas time for the kids with the thought of more realistic Pokemon goodness. That and push it off for that one creepy shirtless 40 year old hairy guy who loves it.
Eh the game has it's moments.

Pokemon battles, erm, great, thats a whole new gaming experience not too be had anywhere else.
If nintendo finally came out with a full 3d pokemon RPG on the wii it would breath some life back into this tired but lucrative franchise- I'm sure that would be one hell of a game.

There already are a couple of 3D Pokémon RPGs. Pokémon Colloseum and Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness on GameCube.
Hmm... I wonder if those are actual, in-game visuals? If so, it may be the first 3D Pokémon title that doesn't look like an N64 game.
I know graphics aren't everything, but it felt a bit off that Colloseum and XD's Pokémon models are the same as those in Stadium 1 and 2 on N64 (and the ones of the Hoenn Pokémon are comparable to them).

I just saw the video for Battle Revolution at IGN:
http://media.wii.ign.com/media/818/818481/vids_1.html
And, I gotta say I'm impressed. For one, they're not reusing the N64 models!
Second, Pokémon actually make contact when they attack! None of the cut-away stuff that was in the N64 and GCN games.
Third, the attacks have very cool visual effects. Wailord's Blizzard covered Pikachu and Groudon in sheets of snow, and Groudon's Hyper Beam actually damages the arena in addition to Deoxys.

I am amazed you know that. I thought pokemon fans weren't old enough to formulate sentences.

I'm amazed you came up with such an intelligent, well thought out joke. Do you, by chance, have a newsletter I could subscribe to? I simply can't imagine myself going a single day without your stinging wit. Why, surely my life would benefit from your insight, your true mental might, and the world would be a better place.
Oh sir Thomas the great, please, I must be your apprentice. I must learn your secrets to wisdom. Teach me and cultivate me, in the ways of humor!

BPMΩ,
I gotta agree with you. The game looks very impressive. I like how they damage the stadium to give (some sort of) a realistic effect to this particular franchise.
Oh and Thomas Averin,
shut up. So what if he's detailed in this one statement. You honestly can't say that you haven't done the same with another of Nintendo's highly profitable franchizes? Example, explaining Mario, LOZ, or better yet Metroid to a parent/friend that doesn't know about Nintendo.

Online connectivity is what Pokemon needed all along.
But I never understood the series. Like how in God's name do they get a (supposed) 4 ton blue whale to "float" efforlessly over the battle field?
