Though we wouldn't normally pay much attention to something called a "Corporate Management Policy Briefing," we'll make an exception when it comes to Nintendo and their beloved Wii. Fielding some questions regarding the system's impending launch, Satoru Iwata attempted to assuage some concern over Nintendo's previous cubic console and its muted commercial success. He noted that Nintendo's inability to consistently and timeously release new games after launch stuttered the system's momentum, a problem which, if all goes to plan, won't rear its snarling head in the next round."To avoid repeating this with Wii, we have been intensifying the software development, both internally at Nintendo and at developers outside the company, in order to prepare aggressive software lineup for Wii at and after the launch." However, Shigeru Miyamoto (who admits to being occupied by a super secret project) added that Nintendo hasn't greatly increased the number of people working on projects, with over 1,500 people already banging keyboards and waving wiimotes in the hopes of generating more Nintendo classics.
In that case, how exactly does Nintendo plan to intensify software development? If they have stricter management and curtailed development times in mind, how will that affect their forthcoming titles? Careful Nintendo -- striking the perfect balance between quantity and quality isn't going to be easy.

They should release games one at a time instead of several hits every month.

I'm glad Nintendo is finally paying attention to this. I think there have only been around 10 games released on the Cube this year. Only on 1 of them to my memory made by Nintendo (Chibi-Robo).
On a side note: "super secret project?"
Oh God, please be Pikmin 3
PLEEEEEZZZE BE PIKMIN 3!!!

Either nintendo has bought up some smaller indy companies to pik up the slack, or this could be because they have alot more third parties wirking for and with them this coming gen, I suspect thought that they have built some kind of system moderation system, an AI that can fill in gaps in programing and 3d design or a mass production all purpose advanced gaming engine complete with pre built physics, a automated landscape designer slashed editor and it comes with pre built high quality models of all current nintendo characters and basic enemy set. I thought of that last idea because nintendo seems to use similar engines for all there games of the same sort, Mario-Zelda-Mario Sunshine. Celda-Twelda there are much more but I can't be bothered naming them. Or Nintendo has built a game design system so advanced that mere thoughts can program it, and it is written to at a speed as fast as the creators thoughts.

I'd almost rather them stick with quality over quantity as they've done in the past. If they go with quantity over quality, the Wii will be just like those other two consoles.
