Yeah, yeah, you can bust up some Yakuza punks and rampage across New York, but what else can we do with the Wiimote? British gadget mag T3 was kind enough to offer some possibilities for any game designers itching to find the perfect new idea. Their recommendations?
-
Mario Darts
-
Super Tokyo Juggling Rush
-
Gladiators
-
Barroom Brawl 2007
- Ghostbusters
The T3 blokes chose their Ghostbusters idea as the most viable of the lot, but we have to go with Mario Darts. Why buy a real dartboard and risk putting one through little Timmy's thigh when you can bring that smoky barroom favorite right into your living room with no fuss, no muss?
This is probably a good time to admit a secret hankering for a game about soccer hooligans. Football, beer, and raging across London with your best mates, crowbars in hand. What could possibly be wrong with that? C'mon, reader -- design your own no-holds-barred use for the Wiimote. What do you want to bash today?

I'll tell you what I want to bash.... My face in for coming to a blog/rumor site that has no real news. That's what.

Three cheers for being inteligent. In case you didn't notice, its the Wii FANBOY website. It's designed for that.
As for actually constructive ideas, I like the idea of Gladiators. I also think that the idea of using two Wiimotes simulatnously is great idea, and can greatly increase the feel of a game.
But Ghostbusters would be REALLY cool.

Gladiators....as in a remake of the old American Gladiator game? Or as in Gladiator the movie?
Either one could be pretty schweet.

Ghostbusters is definitely the best idea on there. Though, I'd pwn that juggling game's face so hard (getting good at five clubs and can do tricks with five balls). But in the end, wouldn't it be easier to just get some bean bags and actually learn how to do it?

I'm gonna pass on darts. I don't need any of my drunken friends throwing a Wiimote through my HDTV.

My Wishlist of games on the Nintendo Wii would includes:
1. Space Channel 5 - Instead of pressing buttons, you have to dance your way to the top like in the previous games. Can you imagine this game being played with the Wiimote?
2. Samba De Amigo - This game was a blast to play on the Dreamcast, and on the Wii it would be even more fun! The Wiimote could emit maraca sounds while you shake it to the rhythm of the music.
3. House of the Dead or Virtua Cop - Another fine example of how the Wiimote would be excellent for playing these games. Lightgun attachment optional.... ;-)
4. NiGHTS - You probably think I am a Sega fanatic by now haha. I kinda am, but all I can think of is using the Wiimote to fly and glide through the sky in a game, and what better way to do it then with this franchise? Come on, Sega.....please?
5. Panzer Dragoon - You know you want it. Saliva forms in the corner of your mouth just thinking of the possibilities with what the Wiimote can do for this franchise. Whether it be a sequel to Panzer Dragoon Saga or hell, even a remake with updated graphics, this game with the Wiimote would be Awesome with a capital A.
