A reader dropped us an interesting tip today -- German online gaming hub Nintendo-LAN.de took reader questions to Leipzig as part of a feature. Google mangles the translation ('hi' becomes 'rear ones' -- how's that for a neat trick?), but as James tipped us off, one of the questioners posted a partial translation to the IGN boards. It's not all hot news, as it seems the questions were e-mailed to the online mag rather before the Games Convention (as one fan asks about using the GCN controller for Twilight Princess), but some of it is interesting. Red Steel is reported to have no load times and movements with the Wiimote are no longer predetermined, but are converted directly from player input. Sounds like we better brush up on our swordplay. What else is there? Well, Nintendo's not confirming a Mario Kart for the Wii yet, but if there is one (wink, wink), it's very likely going to feature full online play. [Thanks, James B.!]

I hope there is a more "realistic" game on the wii like Gran Turismo or PGR with liscensed cars that aren't just toyotas and the like (I'm looking at you, NFS), and have circuit races, not street races.
Speaking of NFS, that would be a good liscensed car game if they made it like the old ones instead of steet racers with more realistic controls (read: hard to steer, realistic speeds).

What's wrong with street racers?
EA's just making a game series that's current with pop culture (see "The Fast and the Furious" movies).
And besides if you want a realistic racer, Ubisoft has GT Pro series at launch. So you can pick that up, and I'll pick up NFS, O.K.?

The part about Red Steel also notes you can manually adjust the sensivity of the controller.
I don't know if I have to believe this, isn't it just speculation? The GC06 trailer showed pre-determined swordplay, and this Dutch article also notes that the swordplay is still pre-determined, but they have refined it. So, if you make a vertical slash, it makes a vertical slash at that point, and to block, you have to hold the controller sidewards at the right point. But the doesn't seem to be real direct-input sword fighting in it yet.

I think it is not right to say that Nintendo does not confirm a new MK, the German text says they confirm that the title is being developped, but they can't give any information about it, exept the full online Support.

@ my earlier comment: A comment from author of the article says that the guys at the Games Convention said the GC build was the build from E3 with updated graphics, but no updated enemy AI and controls.

I just like imagining myself in a Ferrari or McLearen instead of a toyota. You are very true about the "keeping up with pop culture" thing, Though. I just happen to be one who likes more "realistic" games with fancy cars and stuff.
