According to a post over on a blog at Jeux-France, the latest issue of EGM has some interesting rumors to share. The two of greatest concern to Wii Fanboys is the proposal of a Rez sequel releasing for the Wii, along with Nintendo's Wii Sports title including 30 total games. A sequel for Rez on the Wii is just about the greatest thing we've ever read. The problem with a rumor like this is that it sounds so good that it just can't be true. We want it, we want it bad, but likely could not survive the fall should it turn out to be fake. We'll remain as suspicious of this rumor as possible, for the time being.
The idea of Wii Sports including over 30 different games is feasible and likely true. This could mean that Wii Sports would have a total of 24 games that we have yet to see (assuming that Wii Orchestra is included in the game and not a title in and of itself). Nintendo could get away with offering half as many games in Wii Sports and ask for full retail price, so the idea of 30 games being a part of the experience is wonderful.

Wii Sports could be sold in many ways, some good and some bad.
I think it would be more beneficial to Nintendo and the "Sports" franchise to package a disc with the games we've seen in with the Wii at retail. This gets people interested in the games as well as used to the controller. It could also help solidify the "many people, easy play" marketing strategy, and it gets Nintendo back to the era of being able to play games "out-of-the-box".
Then, every few weeks after launch Nintendo could release a new sport via the Virtual Console. These games should be cheap, $2 - $5. This would help sell the VC (especially if Nintendo had already hooked millions of people by including a few free downloads with the retail box). People would go online to get their free downloads and pick up a new sport, and they'd look and see everything else the VC has to offer.
Selling Wii Sports at $49.99, even with 30 "games" in it, could be disasterous for the new franchise, and frankly I don't see Nintendo making this mistake.
I'm very interested in playing Wii Sports. But I will not push out $50 at one time for it. What's funny is that if I got all the sports at $3 each I'd spend more than $50, but the strategy would benefit the customers in pick-up-and-play, and would rake in several more million for Nintendo.
I don't see Wii Sports being a million-copy seller if it releases at $49.99. If Nintendo goes with the strategy I suggest, EVERY Wii owner will be playing Wii Sports, and that will get millions of potential customers for future purchases of the franchise.

would be the best move if wii sports would feature such a amount of games. most of the games we've seen already (tennis, baseball) seem kinda limited in terms of gameplay. this massive amount of games in wii sports would even haters of those minimalisitc games (re)persuade to buy this title.
rez2 would be crazy :) but i doubt it!

Wii Sports could include this many games and still be packaged with the Wii or be sold separate for $25-30. I'm not knocking Nintendo by saying this, but the Wii Sports and Music games dont appear to be the most expensive and time-consuming titles to produce, so it would be no big deal if this was a freebie. This title is, in my opinion, the most important game that the Wii has so far, and if it is bundled in with the console, it could really seal the deal for a lot of people this holiday season.

30 games in Wii Sports?
If they do pack it in with the console, Wii Sports is going to be to the Wii what "Combat" was to the Atari 2600!

What about Wii Sport: Football, or Wii Sports: Skateboarding. It would outsell Madden and Tony Hawk.

Only one thing has ever outsold Madden, and that was NFL2K5. And we all know what happened the them. I hate football, but I just thought I'd point that out.
Still, however many titles are in Wii Sports, there'd better be more than the 3 we've seen. Those games are much closer to minigames than actual sports titles. Don't get me wrong, they look like fun and I think they'll be a great way to entice non-gamers. I'm just not too keen on spending $50 for three minigames. Or even 4 if they include Wii Orchestra.
