Back at E3, it seemed as though Microsoft and Nintendo united against the big dog, Sony. Peter Moore, one of the big faces in the Xbox world, had lovely heaping praise for Nintendo's machine, recommending that players could get the high power of the 360 and the originality of the Wii for the same cost as a single PS3 (note: this is no longer true, unless you use the $300 core 360 and the $600 PS3 model). Nintendo also commented on the bundle, saying that it was a great idea.Did anyone really expect it to last? Recent comments by both Peter Moore and Reggie indicate that the companies have returned to their icy status-quo relationship. In a recent interview, Moore stated that he was worried that the Wii would only be fun for "a few minutes"...that punk! Reggie, when asked about the Wii60 combo, admitted that he thought that if gamers want to have another system to complement their Wii, it should be a Nintendo DS Lite. He then explained this comment with a very simple statement: "I'm greedy."
Honest to a fault! We love ya, Reggie. Who here is going to let this travesty of public relations deter them from their beloved Wii60 combo?

Doesn't affect me. I'm only really getting a 360 for Halo 3 and the media functions though.

I love, in that interview with Moore, how he was all proud of launching it so quickly. "17 days" I think he said. He failed to mention how it resulted in power/overheating problems and not enough consoles to fill demand. Pffff...
He underestimates the Wii!

Meh. That's business for ya. But a good deal of gamers will still go with the combo. PS3 is too expensive all around (retail price, likely game/accessory price, HDTV price to get the most, etc).
I already have a 360, 2 controllers, and 3 games. I'll have a Wii with 2 controllers and 7 games by March. 'Nuff for me.

I couldn't really see a reason for a 360 in the first place. Higher-res graphics do not a good game make. I bought an Xbox for Halo and Fable, which were essentially all the Xbox had going for it. But the luster is gone with the idea of Halo 3 or Fable 2. What's so terrible about bringing either of these to the Wii? I can think pretty much any game would be more immersive with the Wiimost/Nunchuk control scheme.
That includes the Guy Game. *shudders*

I agree with Reggie on the point about the DS Lite, and not just for the greediness reason (I love that comment), but because if you get a 360 and a Wii, they don't work together. What's the point? You'd have to divide your time between them. The DS and the Wii have planned connectivity already. It's kind of funny to see them hugging and smiling until the PS3 is essentially under and it's time for the Wii to actually come out and challenge the 360 - then it's no holds barred again. Tee hee...

I have a 360, Kameo, Perfect Dark, Call of Duty, Oblivion, and Condemend, Two wireless controllers, two play and charge kits, and 1 year Xbox live, for a total value around $800+. Only problem My 360 stopped working 2 months ago and I am not sure if I want to pay the $130 to get it fixed(DAMN Red Circle off Death)... I might just start selling things off, to get to get my Wii.
I think the Wii60 combo for me is have had the 360 and getting rid of it to pay for my Wii.

Well, it's going to be Wii60 before it's PSWii60 for me. No Wii needed until Metroid Prime 3 comes out. No PS3 needed until FFXIII comes out. I'm glad I have the 360 in the meantime.
I'm sorry, but I'm still not convinced that the Wii will satiate all my gaming needs. The DS and Gamecube definitely didn't, even though I'm glad I have them.

Ah Ian, you have to mention Ninja Gaiden. It's more important than Fable. Then again, I think the only good reasons to own a PS2 are Final Fantasy and Xenosaga.

Halo and Fable are on PC, so that's not much of a reason to have an Xbox. Ninja Gaiden, however, there's something to get an Xbox for...
As for me, I'm getting a Wii this year, and maybe a PS2 (yes, that's two). I haven't gotten one yet, and I'm thinking I may want to play all the good PS1 and PS2 games I missed after only buying Nintendo systems (and a Dreamcast) all my life...

Thank God!
I never dug Microsoft ingratiating itself into Nintendo's audience with that BS line.
Nintendo has NEVER and WOULD NEVER consider or allow themselves to be an "associate" system. The electronic sidecar on the gaming motorcycle. The whole notion was absurd upon its utterance!
Nintendo has barely even acknowledged the existence of its competition much less the names of their systems and EVEN much less their importance.
Secondary console indeed. Laughable. A backhanded compliment that will be sure to backfire on Microsoft & Sony who copied that sentiment. It's amazing how Microsoft & Sony hadn't picked up on the irony of their statements regarding the Wii.

The last one ESPECIALLY is important in regards to this Joystiq article here.
Nintendo is competing alright but in a way that is so different from the other two that see themselves ABOVE that lower level of competition.
At the end of these 5 years of the 7th generation of game consoles, you can sure as hell bet Wii will still be around dominating while the 60 will continue trying to keep up.
Wii is about to render all the competition dinosaur with The Future of Gaming called Wii.
I'd love to hear the comments from these guys at the upcoming TGS's. Humble pie doesn't taste as sweet in the aftermath.

A good point about Halo and Fable being on the PC, but it's not the same game when it's not on a console. You lose something in translation. The button layout is different, where on a controller it feels tweaked (or should be) to be perfect. And also on a computer, you are subject to hardware woes such as grafics card speeds, processor speeds, and the like. With a console, it's made to run smooth.
I'm sorry to say I've not played Ninja Gaiden. I probably should take a look at it, just so I know that I'm not toally misinformed.

I gotta a 360 and trust me I'll be definitely getting a wii. Too bad my 360 has already been repaired twice. So maybe if it screws up again before the 19th I'll just be stuck with a wii. Cause I'll just be getting it fixed to trade it in and get a wii instead. If it does break once more, three times in 6 months is way too much for one system to break in that amount of time. Not hating, just stating my personal shit.

I never heard of a "GeneSNES" combo back in the day (which, together, would've been cheaper than a Neo-Geo)...
