For those of you living in the states, you know full well how big a deal football is. Heck, even some of you in Canada are starting to catch the fever. The rest of the world, however, have their own game of football (and we hear it's quite popular). As such, the latest And for those of you who enjoy spending Sundays on the couch with a bag of chips and a few beers, you might be interested in checking out IGN's preview of the game. It's chock full 'o fresh screens, along with some new information explaining why EA calls this the most "feature rich" Madden to date.

LOL.. and EA said that they will push the Wii graphically on this game. They are full of it. I for one will be getting this on the 360 or PS3 (not sure yet with of the HD system I may buy by next yr). Its clear with EA that cross platform games that include the Wii will have its version based on current gen engines. How sad. EA next time don't tell the Wii community crap about spending time improving the graphics.

Did you read the article? I did, and IGN states that this is one of the few Wii games that does attempt to push the system's graphical power; it's somewhere between the Xbox and Xbox360 in that respect. Also, the controls are apparently well tuned and do infact make the game feel more immersive.
I've never played, let alone owned a football game before and I am excited to make this my first. It really looks fun and much easier to pick up than the other versions. I think this game will be an asset to the Wii.

My comments are based on that I see not what was said and what I see is EA not producing what they claim. It looks current Gen at best. Plus if it has no online play then why would anyone get this version. Gameplay mechanics alone (using the Wiimote) isn't enough to get the mass to die this version.

Jadnice, How would you know that the game's controls are not enough to warrant a purchase of the game? No one know until we play a finish 100% gold master that you pick up off the shelf. It's so-called "gamers" like yourself that sleep on titles because of some formulated unproven biased opinion.

Just starting to catch on in Canada?! We happen to have the oldest professional football team in the world! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toronto_Argonauts
Anyway, back on topic... the game looks nice enough, and the controls sound tight, but without online play I can't be the only one thinking of holding out until next year. It's a shame Nintendo couldn't get their stuff together in time for launch, and it doesn't bode well for Wii Madden's sales numbers compared to the other systems', no doubt leading to half-assed ports in the future. Sigh...

I like how they say the rest of the world is into 'fifa'. I live in australia, and we have two types of football. AFL (a huge oval field with huge amounts of players per team where they kick an oval shaped football between each other and goal posts...kinda like 'fifa' but not across the ground), and NRL (rectangular shaped field, looks a lot more like NFL at first glance, but rules are totally different and no players wear that pansy-assed padding....its more full on). 'Fifa' only became popular like this year cause the Socceroos made it into the semi-finals. I wish NRL was played overseas. Both our sports are fairly popular in England, but not many other places. Oh and yes, if you all know what 'Rugby' is (Springbox ring a bell?) then that is almost identical to NRL.
