One of our readers was visiting his local Seattle, WA area Target store recently and stumbled upon a DVD for sale at the low cost of only a penny. This DVD, which features game trailers for both Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam for the Wii, is titled Living the Game with the Wii and Activision. With the combination of the Wii gift card, it seems like Target has caught the fever the rest of us are suffering from.
Anyone else see this in their local Target? Can anyone confirm how many trailers are on this disc?
[Thanks mykie!]

They're at every target, the sale price IS a penny. There are if I remember correctly two trailers...they will be located on an endcap in electronics along with some other accesories. There are keychains, wiimote cases and lanyards, a carrying case and a couple of other things.

Nope. Not at our Target. I checked there last night, and our endcap has still not shown up. (Neither of our Wal-Mart Supercenters have the guides either). I'm planning on hitting Best Buy, Circuit City (today's their grand opening) and Target again tonight... just to see...

I saw that at my Target, too (while buying my wiimote covers almost a month in advance >.>) but didn't see a price anywhere. Actually, it was on the endcap where everything was $25, so I didn't bother asking. I might just run out and get it just to give it a look-see.

Yup, they're a penny, and there's only two trailers on it. For the two games listed on the front cover. There are a few short "bonus" items related to the two games, but nothing particularly interesting. The trailers are only about 30 seconds each, and in 4:3, not widescreen. The video quality is... ok, but definitely nothing special.

The disc is actually a 609MB CD, but it works in most DVD players.
The disc contains the E3 2006 trailer from both games, as well as a few behind-the-scenes videos.
But that's a great idea, Thrillho, picking them up to use as replacement Wii game cases!

The trailers were pretty cool, but of course it's all just promotional to hype up the system and these games for launch. The best part IMO was the behind the scenes for the games, really cool to see the developers talk about their games. They seemed truly excited.

I got this at Target on Monday night. Noone in the store knew anything about it, and I had to wait for 5 minutes at customer service just so they could verify that it only cost one penny! And then they didn't even charge me for it. I can verify that it has trailors for Marvel:UA and TH:DHJ, but it has more than 1 video for each.

I ran to my Target 10 miles away and bought:
2 light-up Wii gift cards
2 replacement cases (pretty plain white cases, no Wii logo or other markings)
for the whopping total of $0.04. I wanted more cases because they are handy but there were only two on the hook at the time. I wonder if others had the same idea?
Too bad the button to release the disc is really rigid, otherwise these would be perfect for general use.

I picked one up at a northern California target last week, there are 2 trailers on the disc and a few behind-the-scene videos. It was a great deal for only a penny.

Being the bastard that I am I went to all five targets in my area (1 mile radius). It's LA, I think they are replacing the liquor stores with Targets and Walmarts. I proceeded to buy every single Wii disc and Wii gift card. I spent $1.63, about 100 demo discs and 52 gift cards. The cashiers thought I was stealing the way they were looking at me and then the receipt.
Now what am I going to do with all this Wii crap? I am having feelings of remorse. :0( Did I do something wrong? Am I now a jackass?

On another note... they've loaded up on accessories. Some I've never seen on any websites. They appear to already have that $20 wheel attachment. I don't know if it's been said, but the gift cards stay on for about 10 seconds when you press the power button.

Don't worry, s, they looked at me like I was a reject when I purchased the Wii cards for a penny. I don't think they understand our kind :(

haha we just aren't used to seeing things on sale for a penny, it's just really rare. Plus, our demo models will ring up for a penny as well...so if the cashier doesn't know anything about it, I can imagine it would confuse them :P
