We salute you, unnamed Target employee who leaks internal documents and places his own livelihood at risk in the process. Courtesy said nameless hero, the specific number of Wii units headed to each outlet has been (supposedly) revealed.
Instructions: head to this forum page and find your local store. Note its specific store number, then head to the previous page and cross-check your store number in the list. The second-to-last number in the line will be the number of units received by that store. The internet loves you, you know. In lieu of searching confusing forum page posts, just head
here, type in your area code, and view the convenient results that spew forth from yon servers. It'll return several stores in the area, weighted by both proximity and number of Wii units available.
Some math reveals that the average number of Wii units per store is close to 46, a decent stock indeed. We know it'll be difficult come launch day, but with perseverance and and the ability to resist biting cold, you'll get your console yet.
[Thanks, Antibot and Elliott!]

Cool, this is awesome. Only question now is do they open earlier to sell the Wii, or do they just open their normal time?

This is cool, but I live in a town without a Target. Any idea how many Wiis Walmart is going to get? Otherwise it's a 3-hour drive to the nearest Target.

I worked at Target when the 360 launched. At our store, no one was allowed to line up till about 2 or 3 hours before the store opened. Then after that, tickets were handed out for the number of 360's we had in stock. And the store opened up at the regular time, so no midnight launch party. We didn't have any problems, but the Best Buy down the street had a fight break out in front, and those morons got themselves on the local news because of it.
It was kinda funny as I was leaving though, all the people in the parking lot started running for the door. I had to tell them that it wasn't time yet, and they all went "awwww" at once.

Since Target is not the Ant-like conformity that is Wal-Mart, different stores will probably have different ways of going about the launch. One thing I would do is about a week or so before launch, call your local Targets around closing time, and ask for the Overnight LOD (Leader on Duty) and ask that person what their policy will be for the Wii Launch. Ask them if its ok for people to be lined up at the door, ask what time the store will open, things like that. Also a good idea would be to ask the LOD's name, so if you encounter any problems, tell them the LOD's name and say they said it was ok. Only do that, of course, if they ACTUALLY did say it was ok.
Another good idea would be to observe the PS3 launch. Ask Target employee's how that went, what the rules were and the like. Might also be a good idea to run by there at around midnight and see whats happening. Ask people in line or in the parking lot what's going on.

WOOT I have 2 targets semi-close to me getting 60 consoles. The one I plan to head to first will be getting 24, so if the first fails I have back-up plans.

Now I just hope they do something like this at Walmart and get the numbers. The target right by my home has a huge number of Wii's (156!!! Right near UCF). But how many will My Wal-Mart have?
Sure hoping to know a huge number so I don't have to worry, but gotta use walmart. Discount card from a Friend!!
Oh well. At least I can hit target then if Midnight at Wallyworld fails me.

I'm not going to try GameStop or EB Games, since all of their units are going to pre-orders, and the same thing goes for Toys "R" Us. That basically leaves...let's see...Wal-Mart, Target, Circuit City, and I think that's it in my closest general area...besides other stores like Sears, etc. if they even sell consoles anymore.
I'd rather not buy anything from Wal-Mart, so that leaves Target and Circuit City. I had a bad experience with CC recently, so I might go to Target. It'll be one of those two.
That said, my local Target is apparently getting 42 units. Plenty for the area I live in.
This is all assuming I have enough money 'n stuff on 11/19...^^

My local Target is getting 120 units according to this, but I asked two employees a couple weeks ago and they said they are getting only 15. Who should I believe?
If 120 is really true I should have no problem if I get there at 5:00 AM on launch, at least, I think. I've never been to a console launch before and I really need the Wii. I really doubt 120 people will be in fornt of Target at 5:00 AM on a Sunday. Any ideas if I will have a chance of getting one?

Are these Target numbers accurate? I called a store that the website says is getting 210 and he said they are only getting 20. I'm assuming he's just lying, but I don't know. Maybe the number is the number ALLOCATED to the store, not necessarily the amount that will be shipped for launch?
