Because the
eight we just posted weren't good enough, we've got another ESRB confirmation ... this time for
thirteen. We'll let the list do the talking for us:
NES:
- Excitebike
- Ice Climber
- Dr. Mario
- Mario Brothers
- Ice Hockey
- Soccer
Super Nintendo:
- Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
- Kirby's Super Star
- Super Metroid
- Kirby's Dream Land 3
Nintendo 64:
- Mario Kart 64
- Starfox 64
- Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
"
Mario Brothers", which is technically the name of the arcade title already coming to the VC at launch, is presumably the actual
Super Mario Bros., which failed to make it across the Pacific in time for November 19th. The biggest name on this list is certainly
Mario RPG, a collaborative effort between Nintendo and Squaresoft USA (now known as Square-Enix). Besides being an absolutely excellent game, it shows that Square-Enix is committed to bringing some of the very best of its SNES golden-era RPGs to the Virtual Console. We don't want to say it, we shouldn't, really ... but dammit, we need to ...
Chrono Trigger?[Thanks, Cian C.!]
[Update 1: Dammit, we can't count.]

ZOMG @ STARFOX 64. Better known as Lylat Wars...ZOMG! I loved that game so much. They had it set up at my local games store before and i finished the whole game on the hardest path even before i owned it LMAO. Mario Kart 64 is PWNT, OOT i already have on Gamecube. I want them to hurry up and announce Donkey Kong Country 2 + 3 (1 is already announced) and Unirally (i think it was called Uniracers in the US). And find out who has the rights to Shadowman on the N64 and put that on too. Paper Mario 64 wouldn't go astray either. i can see my half a gig of Flash memory is gonna be chewed up so fast, ima get me the biggest possible SD card, anyone know how big they get? I was told 8 gig.

Beware of the 8 gig SD cards, those use a special type of slot called SDHC, which we're not quite sure if it will work on the Wii. I assume that the slot will work with FAT32, which would mean that the biggest card that will work is 4gigs. With how prices have been, you're better off getting two 4gig cards than one 8 gig card anyway; SD cards have always had the best value if you go one size down from the smallest. I suggest people watch Slickdeals.net for cheap SD cards though, there seems to be a new deal on them every couple of days.

The entire SNES lineup there is beyond awesome. I was really hoping Super Star would end up on the VC, and I was not disappointed. As for Squeenix, they pledged their support for the VC pretty early on. I recall seeing their logo go up on the japanese VC website not long after it was announced. Chrono Trigger is definitely going to see a rerelease somewhere, either GBA or VC (or hopefully, both). I'm really hoping they might throw some new translations at us (Seiken Densetsu 3?), though that might not be worth it for the price of VC games.
@Foetoid, Newegg has a couple 8GB SD cards, but be prepared to pay well upwards of $100 to get one. I got a 2gig on sale last month for $6 shipped. Keep an eye on slickdeals.net; there's usually a good deal on SD cards at least once a week. Hope that helps.

Kirby Superstar.
Mario RPG.
Super Metroid.
Starfox, Mario Kart, and Zelda 64.
Nintendo just won the freaking 'downloadable games' war. And they aren't even in it yet.
Live Arcade got NOTHING on this.

Funny, I thought the biggest name was "Super Metroid"
I wonder how the lag will translate for speedrunners.

I will be playing the Wii for a few older games.
N64 emulation plays like shit on my PC, and I'm dying to play Starfox 64. There's also that whole copyright infringement thing. :D

I would have thought that the N64 titles would be the biggest. But on the otherhand, the only game there that I can honestly say I will actually pay for (already own the 3 N64 titles) is Mario RPG because it's a game I never gave a chance but heard good things about it afterwards.

Let's hope that this time Super Mario RPG makes it across the Atlantic for a European release as well. If it does, I'll buy it the day it's available. Mario Kart 64 and Starfox 64 are two other must-haves, although I do hope the glitches in the original MK64 are fixed(Speed issues on certain tracks with certain amounts of players)

That is a somewhat terrifying picture :)
The 64 list makes me happy, especially with the addition of OoT (even though I already have it on my Gamecube Zelda collection disc, it makes me fuzzy). I just keep hoping, even if no one else bothers, that they will include F-Zero X. I know they already have F-Zero on there, but that next one was my favourite (aside from GX which, while being sickeningly frustrating at times, totally rocked my socks).
Other than that, that is a very happy list of additions. Especially Super Mario RPG, which I never got to play, and Kirby, which I love. Whee!

Best list so far. Mario RPG is one of my all-time favorite games, I missed out on Super Metroid back in the day, so I want that, Mario Kart 64 was an awesome game, Starfox 64 is the number one game I've been waiting for on the VC, and need I say anything about Ocarina of Time?
I just wish they'd make some minor "upgrades" to these. Little stuff, like adding save to Starfox, for instance.

I am very happy that Super Metroid is on the list. I still want to see Super Mario World, as that was my first SNES game but still my favorite. Zelda OoT will be great, I have it for N64, but that is in the back room where all the old systems are at and I dont play them because they are back there, same thing for Mario Kart 64. Now to just put money aside for this wii system and hope that our small town Wal*Mart will do the midnight release for us too.

SUPER MARIO RPG!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!
I haven't played this game since I used to own the actual cart for SNES... one of the best unexpected RPG games for SNES!! Finally my friends who have never played it finally can... (emulation of the game is mediocre at best sometimes due to it's special video effects) This should bring hope to the other SNES RPG that is longed for VC... Chrono Trigger!
