Jim Welch is quite the artist. He not only creates excellent pieces of art, but he does it on a daily basis. That's the kind of commitment that we both respect and envy. Not only that, but we're jealous of his skills! In his videos each day, he makes creating excellent illustrations look so easy. We'd post what we drew after trying to mimic his style, but it looks like a set of crayons threw up on a piece of paper and, honestly, nobody wants to see that. We've embedded his Yoshi video into the post, after the break.

The reason why Yoshi makes it into my names is because of his cuteness... and that artist took all of Yoshi's cuteness away and gave him some weird demented look.
I have to admit, Yoshi is a kiddy character, (though the games he's in are generally great). He's always smiling, laughing, dancing around, and cute... If you take that away, I think the entire concept of Yoshi just goes down the drain.

it looks like what would happen to Yoshi after entering Raccoon City (like in that GTA Mario video).

Patrick! don't be so close minded! Of course this isn't the "real" Yoshi.
It's a great interpretation! It was VERY fun to watch! :) I love it!

I agree with Lindsay! It may not be cute, but it sure is awesome. Like Yoshi was created, a dinosaur. This is a very realistic dinosaur, mashed together with Yoshi. It's still very amazing!

1)That is f***ing awesome
2)the only reason yoshi was not like that in the first place is because graphics were not advanced enough,> people liked it so cute yoshi stayed
3)the world would be a better place with more people that would go to the extent to draw/paint that!

you guys are being retarded, this guy is an excellent illustrator and what did you expect to see from 'Yoshi gets reimagnined'? I thought the concept was clever and if you don't like it, shut up and get on with your life.

Eww... I think I like the "kiddy" Yoshi MUCH better.. That is a good piece of art, but it isn't good enough to be called Yoshi..

I don't really like the thought of a realistic Yoshi, but I do respect this guy's skills. It was done very well, if there were italian plumbers back in the jurassic era, they would be riding (trying to at least) something that looked like this.
Crappy concept, but nicely made.
