EA has announced a new Harry Potter game based on the upcoming movie Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The movie, which is based on J.K Rowling's fifth book, has Harry returning to Hogwart's only to be questioned about his previous year's encounter with Lord Voldemort. With the wizarding community questioning that Lord Voldemort has returned, as well as the Minister of Magic doubting Dumbledore, it's all up to Harry to set things straight. In coming to the Wii, what should we expect? More than likely, mini-game scenarios where the player will use the Wiimote as a wand (maybe zapping bats coming at you?). Nothing specific has been said regarding the Wii version of the game, so it's all speculative right now, but we will update you as news develops.

Unfortunately, I don't have faith in the game designers here to make a game that does justice to both the source material AND the control system.
There's so much potential, especially for the Wii, especially for the book where things start getting a lot darker. While I'd trust myself to design an appropriate game, I fear that this is going to end up not being worth playing - which is a pity.

Naturally though, because this is a game by EA and it's just another Movie/book based title, it'll totally suck ass.

well, me big harry potter fan, i even own a jacket (like most harry potter geeks have) they will do some special exclusive things like they did with harry potter 3 (for those who don't remember ill freshen your memory) ea games made a special thing for the eye toy on the ps2, so that you could play some mini games with your eye toy. with the wii's special abilities, ea can't resist to do something, but its more of to rent, not going to be that great to own, i know this because i own about 4 games, or is it five (quiditch , FUN)

I think they could do something pretty sick with Quidditch using the Wiimote.
