Late last night, shrieks of glee were coming from my living room. "Look!" cried
In fact, the update seemed to do very little, with only the cryptic message "Parental Controls updated" left as a clue. Since we (and most readers of this site, most likely) don't bother with parental controls, does any loving parent out there know what was changed?
Rumors also abound of the update fixing this little problem. HaX0rs?!
[Thanks to Brent, Sean, and all the other readers that sent this in!]

You guys forgot the most important part of the update. They added a new option to the parental controls: "Restrict access to the internet channel?"
I don't know about you, but I think this means we'll be getting Opera any day now.

Cool, I’ll try downloading it tonight if I can. Although I doubt it will be much use if it just deals with parental controls…

Elyscape , you just gave me a nerd chubby!
ok sorry creepiness aside I really hope they release the web browser soon. Not that I need it since my Wii is hooked up to the same display as my PC,and i would like to see the weather and news channels more. It would really just be nice to see how smooth the browsing is wit hthe Wii.and maybe check out those self proclaimed "Wii friendly site" smooth out.

I know of one thing that was changed, besides parental controls. I found this update because I tried to enter the Wii Shop Channel, and it said "There is an update for the Wii Shop Channel. Go get it and come back!" Well, that wasn't the precise language, but you get the idea.
So I do all that, go back to the shop, and the bouncing pointer issue has been fixed. That's all that appears different, though. For those of you not experiencing this issue, here's the basic description:
All buttons in the Wii Shop channel cause the pointer to bounce down and then back up when you press them. I do not experience this in any channel, the main interface, or in any game. Only in the Wii Shop Channel. It bounces down about half its height, pauses for a fraction of a second (let's say about half or three quarters of a second), and then rises up again to where you had been pointing it.

So why wasn't this delivered through WiiConnect24? I have that enabled and my system in stand-by and there's no blue glow indicating that an update has been received.
... isn't that what WiiConnect24 is supposed to do? Automatically download updates and let you know one is waiting?

I believe that you will have to purchase the internet channel since it is given as an example under the shop channel's Wii Ware. Why would it be part of wii ware if you didnt have to purchase it?

After the update my "screen saver" isn't working. Haven't check if it got turned off or if it just stopped working.
BTW: Excite truck + recumbant stationary bicycle = massive weight loss.

Haha! Yeah, I think that must be what they do. I recall the Zelda story that contained a female Link cosplayer. Like two days after the article was posted, the woman in the picture appeared in the comments, "Wow, what's my photo doing here? You didn't even use the good one!" Too funny.
