One of our readers was perusing Nintendo's online store when he found that the Wii component cables were back in stock as of yesterday. The site states that backorders of the product are officially being filled, so if you've ordered them and have been waiting, shouldn't be long before the package arrives on your doorstep. Better hurry and get them now, while you can.See also:

I got my backordered component cables yesterday. They provide an enormous improvement in picture quality.
One pitfall to be aware of is that unlike the composite cable that comes with the Wii, the Nintendo component cable's audio and video connectors are stuck together near the end of the cable, meaning that if you were planning on plugging the audio into a receiver and the video directly into your TV (as I was), you're out of luck. :(
Luckily my receiver has component switching... I hope yours does!

I just placed mine this morning. Since it's a flat shipping rate, i added an extra Wii Strap (just in case) and a Wii Game Case (i hate that cardboard cd holder crap). Hopefully it comes in before Christmas!!

@Barry -
You don't have to buy a Wii Game Case for your Wii Sports. What I did was I just went into a Gamestop, telling them about my situation with Wii Sports and I was lucky enough to just get an Excite Truck Display Case, which is exactly the same as the other Wii Cases. I just removed the Excite Truck Flap and printed a Wii Sports one and bam! got a Wii Sports Case for next to nothing.

Got mine a few days ago but I honestly haven't been playing my wii much due to finals approaching. Redmond -> FL overnight shipping is awesome. I saw these things fetch as high as $170 on Ebay.
@Justin: Component switching will work, but what I did was simply grab an adapter at radio shack that lets me extend the cable and use a long 1/8th" cable to connect to my logitech 5.1 speakers. So for those without a better solution, keep it in mind.
