When the big man speaks, we listen. And yes, we're referring to the deity that is Reggie Fils-Aime, standing atop his mighty pedestal after supplanting Zeus for the title. He was recently on Spike TV's GameHead, speaking rather generically about the Wii. But, as you may have guessed, there was a diamond in the rough: the news that the first multiplayer online Wii games will be announced in Q1 2007 and start shipping in Q2. Finally! We're a little disappointed that online didn't come right out of the box; God knows some games really could have benefitted: Madden 07, Call of Duty 3, and Red Steel certainly could have used the boost. Still, at least a smidgeon of online functionality is coming quite soon, with the ability to trade custom levels in Elebits via the magic of the

I guess that shows when Metriod and good chance that Brawl will come out. Kinda dissapointed, cause these 2 games are next on my list outside the possibility of Excite Truck. So the virtual console better pick up the pace.

coolness, i don't mind waiting if they polish it all up nicely. if it's rushed and it sucks then everyone's gonna be on here crying about it. work out the kinks, get some good games REALLY going multiplayer and let's do this.

Given Metroid Prime 3 is rumored for early Q2, that would make sense - I can't imagine Nintendo shipping Metroid Prime 3 without online supported, after doing so well with it on the DS front.
And while not a big Tony Hawk fan, I still believe Activision should have wait until online support, once again after giving some of the best online integration on their Tony Hawk DS titles. Well, they can still release yet another Tony Hawk game that has said support.

I really wish to know if WiiConnect24 can make previous games have multiplayer added (even if its only a small functionality of multiplayer, like some DS titles)...
