The Wii on Dr. Phil
Dr. Phil, in his latest one-two punch at arch-nemesis Oprah, did one of those crazy audience giveaway things. They didn't get cars, of course ... oh no, they got something better. And in case your predictive powers are slightly out of whack, we'll lay it down straight for ya ... he gave everyone a bunch of Wii's.
Heck, he even gave Wii Tennis a run-through. After dressing up in pretentious high-performance athletic gear, he proceeded to defeat his opponent amidst whining and blatant cheating. Check it out for yourself ... and wish you were one of those lucky, lucky audience members.
[Thanks, Camran!]

I thought this was a cool little Oprah wannabe publicity stunt. And after I heard that the people in the audience were needy families, I felt he did some good giving them Wiis for free. But after looking at the video, few (if any) of those audience members looked very "needy" to me. Anybody else?
Wii shortages thanks to Dr. Phildo FTL.....

@3 No need to get all high and mighty. It was merely a subjective opinion on my part. Not knowing the entire story of who they are, how they got there or any personal hardships they might have, I can only base a biased opinion on what I see. With that in mind...
If they are indeed under financial constraints why aren't they at work? I know I would have to jump through more than a few hoops to get my boss to let me skip work to go to the Dr. Phil show so I can get a Wii.
Again, just my own personal take on the thing. No ill will towards anyone (except maybe Dr. Phil for his self-righteous babble). I'm glad they were deserving of such a nifty gift. Let's hope they can make a tidy profit when they put them up on eBay to make ends meet.
