Thus far, Nintendo has decided to keep the exact releases of Virtual Console Mondays a secret until the day-of, leaving us gamers biting our nails in mind-numbing suspense. Sega's official website and a major in cryptology have given us three gleaming glimpses in the future.First, from Sega's camp, the classic space-shooter Space Harrier II (1989) will see the light of day next Monday, the 18th of December. Furthermore, on Christmas Day, they'll drop cult-favorite and this blogger's most anticipated VC title, Toe Jam & Earl. Awesome.
From Hudson, their website left the internet-at-large with this little clue:
WHICH GAME COMES NEXT? This one is a doosy. Truly a classic. Here's your first clue:
VGCE0590PG46
Yes, I know. that's freakin cryptic. If no one can figure it out, I may drop another clue tomorrow.
Good luck!
Brilliant minds came together, formulas were solved, chemicals were mixed, and lo, the secret was revealed. VGCE0590PG46 stands for Video Game and Computer Entertainment, May 1990, Page 46. Dig up a couple of old magazine scans, and voilà! The game is Military Madness, a turn-based strategy game with a fairly large following.
Couldn't they have just told us right out?

Huzzah for TJ&E, the reason I got a Genesis years before an SNES. And now it's one of many reason I want the Wii.
Note 'want' and not 'have'. grr.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on a Wii, but unfortunately it is a xmas gift for me so I have to wait until xmas to actually open it. This results in some anxiety that I had not anticipated. For example:
1) After waiting so long and finally opening the box, will I be one of the unlucky ones who gets a DOA Wii?
2) Even if my Wii is not DOA will the firmware updates kill it?
3) Will my family end up throwing a Wii-mote through my tv?
4) Which VC games am I going to buy first now that there is such a large selection (especially with Toe Jam & Earl as mentioned in this post).
UGH, if I could just open the darn thing already it would relieve such anxiety!!
Oh well, its better than the anxiety felt by not having one at all I suppose. Good luck to those who still need to secure their Wii's! (that sounded pretty funny).

I still have Military Madness on HuCard. The game is great. I picked up Advanced Wars DS, hoping it would be a similar experience. Maybe (probably) its my old age, but I prefer Military Madness's lack of storyline and simplicity over Advanced Wars.

Anyone think it's a bit odd how Sega's own website has an incorrect description of ToeJam & Earl?
"Once you find a piece of the ship, you'll receive a hint as well."
What are they talking about? The only hint you get is when you arrive at a level. Unless they mean you get to see more of what the ship looks like.

Don't release the NES Super Dodge Ball and River City Ransom! Release Team Atluses GBA ports! The original games were great, but the updated versions are even better. No long passcodes in RCR, a create-a-fighter mode, and more weapons. And Super Dodge Ball has a bunch more stuff, too. AWESOME games if you haven't played them.

Can you say "Out of this world?"
Only question is, SNES or Genesis version? Hmmm, I think the Genesis had an edge if I remember correctly for that game.
