Well... looks like I'll be "borrowing" a Wii-mote from the library that is Wal-Mart until Feb. 12 now. I really want to take advantage of the pack-in to get my second remote, but certainly can't wait until February, and I have no use for 3. Boo you, Nintendo.

They haven't changed the date from 1/15/06 at http://wii.nintendo.com/software_wiiplay.jsp yet.

Sad news, but this definitely isn't a title that is goign to make or break my library. Wario Ware will probably keep me busy for a while, plus Hotel Dusk for the DS!

Didn't actually realise Wii Play wasn't out there yet!
I live in the UK and to be honest, Wii Play is really a bunch of mini-games that show you how to work the remote in various ways. Quite cool but my friends and I have put at least ten times the number of hours into Wii Sports than Wii Play.

I was looking forward to it, but thank god the video reviews saved me from another impulse buy. Looks absolutely terrible.
A full Duck Hunt game would still be nice, Nintendo.

most of ppl trying to buy wii play isn't after the game. extra wiimote is what ppl want. consider the game as bonus, it really dosen't matter if its bad or not worth it. I think most ppl who has big family already own 2-4 controllers. for me, i am just waiting for all my friends to get their hands on wii. So i don't have to buy them a extra wiimote.
to be honest, i rather to buy wario ware instead wiiplay. but that extra wiimote is very tempting.

Wii Play isn't a full price game, its a controller and a bunch of mini games for £5 more than a controller by itself. And its just a different take on Wii Sports really, a bunch of simple games to get you used to using the controller in different ways.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the sudden large re-stock of Wii-Play on Aussie shelves...

Seriously people, Wii Play is crap. We got it here in Australia for launch, the only game worth playing is probably the Duck Hunt style shooter, but after you've played that once or twice you will never pick Wii Play up again. Don't get too excited about this one...

Australian gamer here - Wii Play is good fun, simple games that you can have a bit of goofing off with. Good for a party, with the highlights being 9-ball (despite poor implementation of the rules) and table hockey. The cow racing is a bit of a lark too, but it's just training for excite truck, really...
I bought it with my console because it was $10 more than a standalone controller. And I'm glad to have the variety beyond Sports for it. By the way, don't get too excited over table tennis - it's a let-down.
