In looking to bring the fun and quirky Flash-based game to Nintendo's gaming systems, inXile Entertainment is hoping to exceed the success of the game on the internet. They plan on releasing the adaptation by spring including some sort of multiplayer aspect, but one must ask exactly what they are planning on doing to justify the cost of the title beyond that?Considering one could just access the student-created application online whenever they want, why would DS and Wii owners, in their right mind, purchase inXile Entertainment's adaptation? Also, considering that the Wii browser's free trial starts very soon, why wouldn't Wii owners just play it that way?

Umm, because the Joystiq post mentions the developers promising new features including multiplayer in the DS and Wii versions? Of course, I have no idea what "multiplayer" Line Rider would look like -- the "toy" online version got old real quick for me -- but I would guess that some people could get into it. Or something.
Maybe they'll make a proper game out of it, where you have fixed obstacles to get around to reach a goal, and/or a limited amount of ink to use... or something. That I might pay 5 bucks for on VC, if it were a fun puzzler.

Actually, IF this was released in the Wii Shop Channel, it would be under Wii Ware, NOT Virtual Console, because when you click "The Wii Shop Channel is Now Open!", it says that new Wii Channels and games designed for the Wii would be under Wii Ware. Just mentioning that, since Virtual Console plays games originally made for other consoles.
Oh yeah, This game will KICK THE BUTT!!!! :D
