Courtesy of a nifty little program called Dot Tunes, one can stream music from their iTunes library to their Wii. Now, we must confess that we aren't very big on iTunes or Macs in general (although some of us dig them), so this isn't something we can go ahead and try out. But what about you, fine reader? Do you wish to give this a spin or have you already?
If you have a video of it in action, or perhaps some screenshots, feel free to submit them.

For some reason, all I can seem to get it to do is try to stream the files through Quicktime, which the Wii of course does not support. Can't find this Flash player anywhere.

Oh sweet, set it to 'local', and you can make your Wii work as a remote control for your itunes. I have coax audio spread through the house and the main computer just plays music everywhere. Now the living room's Wii can control the music server. Definitly cool. Works perfectly, i can post a video if you want.

A/ I'm surprised some of the bloggers here don't use Mac's. And I know the one's that don't like them are the one's that have never used one in the last 5-8 years.
B/ I'm all for Mac apps, but not ones that you must pay for when there are free alternatives.

In order to get to the Admin and Flash menu you need to log in to DOT.TUNES as an administrator.
Just open the DOT.TUNES prefs and click the users tab.
Then create a user/pass for yourself and tick the admin checkbox to make this account have admin access. Also select all the playlists you want to be able to access.
Now when you attempt to login in it will ask for your user/pass - and you will now see the admin link and the Flash page.
Any issues, please email team@dotpod.net
Cheers
Jeff

I should also mention - this is not just a Mac app - it runs on both Mac and Windows.

Presenting...the free alternatives. I'm not sure if these work on a Mac, but I know they work in Windows. These also let you stream videos and photos as well. They may have already been posted on Wii Fanboy, I'm not sure. I've been rather busy lately and haven't been able to keep up with it.
