Nintendo of Japan has long supported a "Club Nintendo" program by which ridiculous fanboys (like us) get to register their purchased consoles and software for various rewards. Of course, we have a similar "registering" procedure at MyNintendo.com, but we rarely have anything to show for it ... we got a Metroid Prime 2 demo disc, once. Woo-hoo.
It turns out that platinum members (a status obtained by magically accruing four hundred points in a year) of Club Nintendo get to choose between two wonderful prizes: Tingle's Balloon Fight, for the DS, or a custom battery pack cover with your very own Mii imprinted on the back. Such a difficult decision! Whilst they ponder, perhaps we may spirit away these prizes in the night. Who's in?

I will be going for "Tingle's Balloon Fight".
It has better "collector's value". ;)
And btw I think there will be a company in the near future offering the service of printing your Mii on a battery flap.
(There is already a service for printing your Mii on a T-Shirt, right>)
If that's available I will have my Mii on my Wii remote, too.
But for now I have just to wait until April to get my dose of Tingle on the DS. :)
And all Americans, please stop complaining about the fact that you don't get goodies on Club Nintendo. Nintendo's a Japanese firm and therefore preferring the Japanese market I guess.
In Europe we have a rewards program, too you might say. That's true, but we pay much more than you in America and the prizes in the European Club Nintendo aren't so great to make up for that huge premium we're paying for everything. 60 Euros for Zelda? That's over 70$. You can get that for about 50$ in the US, right?
So you don't have Club Nintendo presents over there, but you get goddamn cheap games and stuff. Be content with that.
