This short video from the upcoming Mario Party 8 should be just enough to whet your appetite for some silly multiplayer action. This is one game we're definitely planning on checking out -- but how about you? Where's the latest Mario Party fall on your list of must-haves? If nothing else, it certainly falls in with the Wii philosophy about playing games together! Check the video out after the jump.

The promise of Mario Party 8 is what motivated my Wii purchase in the first place!! So far, Rayman Raving Rabbids has fit the bill nicely. And I've got high hopes for WarioWare as well.

It has GOT to use WiiConnect with online play, otherwise I would never buy it.

Before I even watch the video, I know I'm buying this game. I've played every MP game (excluding that microhphone fiasco - change frightens me [not often you hear a Wii owner say that?]) and I simply *know* that the combination of the fun multiplayer ethic of Mario Parties gone by; the Wii Remote and good old Nintendo will result in a game that will see many hours' play from my friends and I.
S'pose I'd better watch this here vid before I press 'Add Your Comments'.
... Nah.

I see that I'll know how to play this game. I love that about Wii games. Having the control be so obvious, yet people still ask what to do. At least I don't have to explain button combinations to my parents...
Anyway, Mario Party 8 will be fun. I guess microphone minigames are still possible if there's DS connectivity.

They could just plug one into the bottom of the controller if they needed a microphone, I think they should sell two setups of that, one with a nunchuk cord, and another that simply places itself on the bottom of your controller and you use that as a handle. (I want Karaoke Revolution Wii!)

I stopped after MP4, and MP3 is still my favorite. But, with the new controls of the Wii, I'm curious to see how MP8 turns out.

Huh. Actually, I very clearly remember seeing this same video a long while back, before the Wii even came out. o.O But I unfortunately can't remember where...Oh, wait! I remember, it was at NWiiZone.com! That place seems much less official, reliable, and witty than here (though it DOES look cool), but it was the EXACT same video, and that can't be faked. This is still my favorite Wii news site, but I'm surprised this old news has only just now reached Wii Fanboy...

Shaking soda cans? Really? That's a game? Can we see something a little more fun/compelling/interesting/challenging/playable/entertaining/makingforgoodtrashtalking?
Or maybe it's just me.

Theres a good chance I would pick this game up. Only because the controller brings so much to table. Personally mp has never appealed, but new possibilities make it seem like a new game. I'm stoked for 4-player. Online-play would send this game into overdrive. Mp was already big, but 8 could be a flagship.
