Courtesy of our big poppa site Joystiq comes word that a few major retail chains are to supposedly have some Wiis for sale this Sunday. This mighty tipster to our parent site sent in some blurry camera phone pictures of each retailer's Sunday circular, promising Wiis for sale:
- Circuit City has Wiis. Limited quantities. No rainchecks. While supplies last. Limit 1 per household. Vouchers will be handed out Sunday, 1 hour prior to opening (10am).
- Best Buy has Wiis. Minimum 20 per store. No rainchecks. Stores open at 11am on Sunday.
- Target only has Wii remotes and nunchucks in the ad (who knows if they've been stockpiling consoles).

To the Target employees,
Any idea if Target is holding back their stock of WarioWare Smooth Moves as well? In my area, Target is the only retailer that hasn't put it on the shelf yet.

Just got back from my local walmart. The lady told me that they got in 38 Wii's but were sold out in under 20 minutes. She said there was a line up outside starting at 5 am.
I saw 5 PS3's under the shelf and she told me that had over 50 in the back warehouse. They haven't even sold 1 in the past 10 days and had to tell the sony rep to stop sending them as they believe it will take 6-12 months just to sell their current stock.

So what would be my odds of snagging one if I went there at like 8 AM on Sunday?

I'm surprised it's this difficult to get one. Since it's just a modified Gamecube, you'd think they wouldn't have a problem meeting demand by now. I think they are pulling the supply and demand trick.
I can't find one anywhere, but I'm not camping to get one. I'm actually getting tired of asking if places have it in stocking knowing the answer.
I bought a PS3 yesterday, and have decided that Sony elitists are insane. It's one of the most aggravating devices I've ever used, and it's way too complicated for the average consumer. Is it worth $600? Not on your life. Sure, it's capable of plenty, but it's more work than play with almost no payoff.
No wonder the Wii is going own the next couple of years. I just pray that it won't completely overshadow the other two, because we need powerful systems in the mix. Motion control is a great idea, but it alone can't captivate us for long.

Can anyone confirm Canada's stock?
And how early should someone get there in order to get one? How long are the lines?

I am not going to play at camping out to get a Wii. This whole thing is insanely stupid.

Has this been confirmed by anyone? Is this for the entire United States, or is this regional?

In regards to target, I learned that my target back home has Wii's in stock (http://www.itrackr.com) When I sent my friends in to go and get one they said they weren't allowed to sell any till Sunday... Hopefully that helps

Aaaaaaaaactually, games are generally released tuesday, alone with cds, and dvds :)
As far as I know, my Target isn't receiving any Wii's. We haven't received any as of now, and the last three shipments we got were put out immediately...and sold out immediately. So the only way this will probably happen with Target is if we receive them Saturday night!
I have definately heard lots of stuff about the wiimotes and nunchucks though :)

haha you are wrong.
Its not just a modified gamecube... and even if it was the demand would probably still be too big for them to keep up.

Got mine today!
Had to wait in line (in the rain) outside Best Buy for about 4 1/2 hours. They had 45 at this particular store in Baton Rouge and there were probably about 40 buyers in line.

I think having to wait in line for these consoles is downright ridiculous, I'm not expert at manufacturing systems, but I think Nintendo ought to get as many Wii's out there as they can. If anyone knows, how hard is it to produce these things, I would assume its just goin' through an assembly line somehwhere.
When should I expect to be able to just casually walk into a store and pick one up, as I can something as simple as a CD?

Will it be hard to get Nintendo Wii in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada on Sunday? People say there are at least 20 systems available.
