Have you been completely assed out in your hunt for any Nintendo product? Never fear, for the rumor patrol reports that Toys 'R Us will have both Wiis and DS Lites in stock on February 11th. Don't get too excited just yet -- that's still a little over a week away, but depending on the competition in your area, you might want to start stocking up on your camping supplies.
Expect to see more DS Lites than Wiis, but since so many of our readers have been trying to get their hands on a handheld lately, we figure that's not exactly bad news.
[Thanks, Josh!]

Well things are getting a LITTLE easier to come by. I found a stack of 6 remotes and about 10 classic controllers on a rack at Target yesterday. I'm trying to spot a Points Card or two, but no luck there (wouldn't you think those would be the EASIEST thing to find? they are just paper). Best Buy and Walmart were wiped out though. Plus, not a single Wii console between them. I wonder if any of the mainstream media attention the Wii has been getting is helping sales or if the current sales spike is mostly GC owners/fanboys? I expect more towards the mainstream side since about half the Wii owners I know never had a GC.
BTW, between those three stores there were at least 30 PS3s sitting on the shelves. All 60GBers and all lonely.

Odd, you would think the 60Gb would be the higher selling version, since it is more complete,
If you're willing to spend the $500 on the one, why not save up just a bit more and get the better version with the bigger HDD?

I think the proportion of 20GB-to-60GB versions was something like 20% to 80%... meaning the $600 version HAS to be the bigger seller. Seeing nearly three dozen PS3s on the shelves simply means they aren't selling well. After all, Wiis never make it to the shelf but instead go straight home with happy customers, and there are millions more of those in the market than PS3s.

Sometimes I just love living in Australia, even if we usually get things a little later. We got Wii Play on launch (7th Dec) and I haven't seen any shop that is sold out of almost anything Nintendo. I know they're thriving here but I suppose not as much as America.

Toys "R" Us is actually holding all DS and Wii's till Feb 11 for their ad. It's a ROTO hold that they do so they are coming in but employees will most likely tell you they don't have them in stock or won't be able to sell it till then. There's also a deal within the ad if you were to buy an Xbox360 or Zune you will receive a $50 gift card along with it.

This may be one of the last few opportunities retailers will have to do "relaunches." As prices on eBay and craigslist has been dropping, I anticipate Wii's will be available on store shelves late Feb. I bet anything CC and Best Buy will do the same on Feb 11th.

I saw a truckload at the Toy R Us near me and they are holding them for the package deal on the 11th. I just wonder if this package deal will be at Target also?
