We expect The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess to get nominated for awards. It's a beautiful entry in a long-running series known for racking up the awards. What is surprising today is that while Twilight Princess received its due attention, it wasn't Nintendo's star when the Game Developers Choice Award nominees were announced -- Wii Sports was.
Just a few months ago, people were calling it a "trumped-up demo" and decrying the fact that this "minigame" was going to be marketed as a full game. Then, as a pack-in, some wanted to take a pass on it in favor of a cheaper price. Who'd have thought that months later, Wii Sports would emerge as a powerhouse and continue to dominate the spotlight? Now that everyone's had some time to be sporty in the living room -- and realize the depth of Wii Sports -- we wonder if that attitude's changed. Certainly someone thinks it's worthy of attention.
Twilight Princess is nominated in the Best Game and Writing categories; Wii Sports is up for three awards: Best Game, Technology, and Game Design.

I still like the wii sports game, its great when someone comes over and I want to show off the wii to them. Usually I make them make a mii first then try out the different sports games. And my girlfriend and I usually play golf quite a bit, I am tempted to get another golf game, anyone tried the other ones out yet?

On a tangent, I got a strike on the 91 pin frame of power bowling last night. Bow to me!

I am certainly not a fan of super swing golf. It was slow moving, it misread quite a few of my shots. The putting interface blows. Its quite cartoony. Rent it.
I'd wait for tiger woods. Wii golf is great. My best round is -5.

I admit I initially had hoped for a lower price point and no Wii Sports. Now, of course, I can't put it down. Finally, FINALLY, got pro in boxing yesterday, after many expletives.
I'm still hesitant about Wii Play, but if and when I opt for a 3rd controller, I may pick it up.

I for one doesn't love Zelda: TP. It's not better than either OoT or Lttp.

It's funny because it got rated 6's and 7's by all gaming sites and mags. I wonder if some of them would like to do it again.
By the way, I don't know what I would ive for some new courses in Wii Golf. My record is -8. And I was pissed because I got a strong headwind on the 9th...
What's your best score. As for me, I'm now playing without the map and wind gauge. Just hold 2 when you select a course.

No surprise here. To be honest, I bought the Wii solely for Wii Sports, and to be honest, it's the only thing I even play.

Yeah, that 9th hole is a bitch
If you want to get under par, you pretty much have to make your initial drive an overpowered shot onto the island that seems just out of reach
If i don't get a good drive on the 9th hole, i'll usually quit, because it really jacks with your score...

My significant other, while he likes to play GTA(alot!), owns a PS2 but never really was a big console player LOVE Wii Sports. He complained about the graphics at first but he's now logged more than 80 hours playing on Wii Sports Golf alone. He loves the thing way too much. Imma get him Tiger Woods on his birthday this March.

On the 9th hole you can use the left island to get an eagle if the wind allows it. Other than that you can go to the right and still make a birdie, no matter how bad the wind is. I've gotten a couple birdies on the 9th, but somehow that only happens after I've totally duffed the first 8 holes.

This is the best game ever made. I have crowds of people gather at my apartment waiting for their chance to play. There is more shit talking going on than a good ole round of smash brothers.
