A handful of new NES titles are destined to hit the VC today at their usual time of 9am PST. With all three being solid titles from the Nintendo Entertainment System's line-up of games, we suspect we'll be forced to give each and every one a download. The details for each game are:
- Kid Icarus - NES - 1 player - 500 Wii Points
- Ice Climbers - NES - 1-2 players - 500 Wii Points
- Kirby - 1 player - 500 Wii Points

Kid Icarus was one of my favorite NES games. I may have to spend the $5.

Interesting how these newly re-released titles are the home to a few SSB characters.

I am still waiting for my Wii to arrive in the mail after ordering from CC.com on Friday morning. Kid Icarus was one of the best NES games but I remember liking Ice Climbers as well.

I've played the Kirby games before, so I decided to grab Kid Icarus. Man, is this game hard. Falling off the screen results in immediate death, sending you back to the start of the level. I'm not sure yet what to think, gotta make it past the first level!
Anyway, interesting NES titles, but I'm focusing most of my downloads on the SNES. I missed a ton of those titles the first go round. Give me Super Mario RPG!

I think anyone who wants a new Kid Icarus for the wii would do well to buy this game on the VC since this is pretty much the only chance we're going to get to send Nintendo the message with money.
Of course, I'll be DLing all 3 when I get home tonight.

I got Ice Climbers and Kirby today. These were 2 of my favorite NES games. I love how the left side of the screen on Kirby still has that white bar that I used to think was just my NES screwing up.
I'm with you on Super Mario RPG, vidGuy.

Kid Icarus goes down as one of my favorite titles ever. I was a little hesitant to download it though, because i wasnt sure if it would still be as awesome after the great technological advancements of video games over the past 20 years. But, it is as awesome as ever! Once i heard about the virtual console, hopes of one day getting kid icarus was a bit of a factor in my getting the wii. Now, for nes downloads, all we need are goonies and ghosts n goblins, then ill be ready to die.

Kid Icarus uses a 24-alphanumeric password. I only remember how long it is because of the password ICARUS FIGHTS MEDUSA ANGELS which is forever burned into my memory. Kirby's Adventure saves your game, but I don't remember how. I think it's just one file that auto-saves after every level.

Anyone else having trouble getting the passwords to work in Kid Icarus? I've tried some of the better known codes and I keep getting error messages.
