It's that time of the week again where we all hastily jump to our Wii Shop Channel and take a look at the latest digital wares around for download. This week, we've got a handful of new titles, which should be plenty enough to tide over Wii owners for a week. These titles are:- Donkey Kong Country (Super NES, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points)
- Streets of Rage (Sega Genesis, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points)
- The Legend of Kage (NES, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points)
- New Adventure Island (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points)

Wasn't DKC made by Rare!? Does this open the possibility of us getting Goldeneye?

my understanding is that the issues with licensing goldeneye are alot different - for one, nintendo own's the donkey kong characters. and bond - is that not owned by sony?

So... as a new console gamer, where can I find decent reviews of the older games coming out for the VC? I can find Gamecube reviews all over the place (just finished Pikmin, starting Metroid Prime next... I've got a lot of catching up to do), but I can't seem to find any good info about most of the games coming out on the VC. Is it just that these games pre-date the heavy use of the Internet? Anyone?

I use Gamespot.com (not to be confused with Gamestop). Reviews date back to PS1 and N64, although they have been adding new reviews for Virtual Console releases. Plus there are user reviews that can be helpful.
But, as always, I'd recommend the reviews with a grain of salt. They're re-review of Mario Kart 64 on VC was just as poor as their original review, and I personally loved that game. To each his own.

Well z3r0w1n6, the only place I can find Virtual Console reviews is Gamespot. I'm sure there are older sites that reviewed the games when they first came out on the NES/SNES/whatever, but Gamespot is the only place I can find. But then again they gave Kid Icarus a 5.5 (out of 10) so I don't know if I can trust them.
Anyways, to the topic, I'd buy Donkey Kong Country and that's it. I've never heard of New Adventure Island.

Gamespot and IGN give the best reviews, but they can be a little slow in the coming. Reviews here: http://www.vc-reviews.com/available_now.php (first thing that pops up when you Google "virtual console reviews") can be short, but they get 'em up quick, and they tend to be a little more nostalgic.
Let me know if there are other good resources! I've found the VC to be such a kick ass component to the Wii.
