During an interview with GameDaily.Biz, Nintendo's Perrin Kaplin talked the Wii up and even got to mentioning the GameCube. What's most interesting, however, is her response to the question of whether consumers would see a revision to the Wii hardware, with which she responded "Sure, absolutely. You'll see the ways in which we do that." This, of course, does not come as a surprise, as Nintendo has been notorious for hardware revisions to its products (DS Lite, GBA SP etc), yet might anger Wii owners who had a tough time acquiring the console in its first few months of release should the company reveal a revision too soon. With Nintendo's exemplary record of doing this, however, we're sure such a mistake is beyond their capabilities.Perrin also goes on to comment on the GameCube, supporting rumors that the company is no longer manufacturing systems or software for it. "Are we producing any more GameCubes? No. But do we have the inventory there for people to still purchase? Yes."

This is what you will see with Wii 2.0
An ethernet port
On Board WaveBird reciever
possibly a better sensor bar, more easily placed wherever
MAYBE more NAND Memory (like 1 gig)
I wouldn't worry

She talked so much about food i think im starting to get hungry. But a comment on the articale I think its the same old story Nintendo uses, not even giving a hint to any games that will be online any new unannounced games or channels. No news of online play, same old same old.

Hopefully this 2.0 they speak of refers to downloadable updates, and not a different version of the Wii.
Yes there have been alternate NES, SNES, GB, GBA, DS, etc, but functionally they are all the same. If they do revise the Wii I hope it's just color variations, or having some be DVD capable (for those that are bothered by the current Wii's lack thereof). If that's all it is I won't be disappointed with the one I've got.
But if all of a sudden you get new Wii's with additional harddrive space (like the 360 and PS3 options) then I might be annoyed. Especially since Nintendo is trying to be different from MS and Sony.

Well... hard drive space would be ok if they released some sort of external device and finally put those USB ports to good use...

There's not gonna be a Wii 2.0. Nintendo doesn't make revisions to their consoles, just their portables. The one exception being the memory pack for the N64 that allowed you to play certain games. Wii 2.0 likely just refers to the next Nintendo consoles, which will be released about 5 years from now.
