Japanese Wii owners are quite the lucky folk, as word hit today that the Wii's Virtual Console service in Japan will be getting games for the NEO GEO and MSX systems. Games for those systems will be available to Japanese consumers come this Spring, so there is still a bit of waiting. No word has hit on whether these systems' games are going to be available to Virtual Consoles outside the region, but we hope that's the case as it could pave the way for more systems to appear on Nintendo's digital downloading service.

That is great, as long as the NEOGEO games dont cost 25000 Wii Points to download.
As for the controller, I have a mock up at my site:

Almadi - that NEOGEO-Wii controller is hilarious!!
As a side note, if you really dislike the classic controller and wavebird for SNES games that much, I'd recommend a PS2 controller.
But if it's more a matter of you just don't want to download SNES games, then nevermind.

That's great news. But yeah, hopefully the Neo Geo games don't cost significantly more than any of the other titles offered currently in the VC. And pardon my ignorance, but what is the MSX?

I take back everything negative I've said about the Virtual Console. That is some truly fantastic news. I really hope the Neo Geo games don't take some ridiculous amount of "blocks", though.

M: I'm not sure on all the details. It was a type of home computer system in Japan that saw the first releases of the Metal Gear and Castlevania series.

Neo Geo games shouldn't, they were cartridge based (so space worries are a no-go), and there's no way it would cost more than the N64, again due to cartridge based status
I will get Metal Slug, the instant it comes out in America (if ever)

@#2, Charles, How would anybody dislike the classic controller for SNES games? The Classic controller is already a freaking SNES controller, with a Dual Shock remix. Actually, Super Mario World was the only reason I got a Classic Controller in the first place.
As for #9, Mr Khan, Why not just get Metal Slug Anthology? I have it, and it was a great game while it lasted.
As for the main subject, I was hoping Sega Saturn was one of the two new systems to be announced... just because I've never played Nights into Dreams, and I've been meaning to try out that game (and a ROM is impossible to find, let alone, a Saturn emulator). Neo Geo... meh...
