The Perry Bible Fellowship have taken a stab at Super Mario Bros. and, of course, the spin they put on the game is a terrible one. As if playing Super Mario Bros. could ever make you think that it's totally realistic to ride around in pipes, we see the Perry Bible Fellowship's attempts to ... well, we won't comment on the comic anymore. It makes us too mad. Maybe mad enough to eat a mushroom and try to squash anything in our path under our gigantic feet, because eating mushrooms totally makes you bigger. It happens in a game, it must be real.Update: Apparently, we got our signals crossed. We thought Perry Bible Fellowship was like those Jack Chick comics. Our bad.

Whoa whoa calm down guys. I know we all get pissed when we hear the Thompson type guys bash games but this is ridiculous guys. PBF is one of the funniest webcomics around and the guy prides himself on irony/twists like the one shown.

When I first read this post and saw "outforprophets" response, I almost wrote a comment to the effect of, "what a tool for not realizing Hinkle was just kidding!" After rereading Hinkle's post, I decided that it really wasn't funny enough to defend. So now I come back and see that Hinkle wasn't kidding, and in fact, he thought the Super Mario Brothers cartoon was some kind of right-wing critique of video games. I'm pretty embarrassed right now for all involved.

No, we admit when we're wrong and I even said as much in a previous comment that I do not know much about online comics. I glanced at the comic, the name of the site and put two and two together. Again, sorry for the mistake as many of you know much about and seem to love PBF. I've gone through some of their archives and I agree: the comic is a very good one.
