Sure, we knew it would arrive eventually, but now with its addition to the ESRB website, we can realistically expect the game to arrive soon. How soon? Well, maybe this Monday soon (we hope). The big problem is, however, how well it will still play sans rumble. Of course, such an omission isn't going to totally demolish the experience, but we know many of you out there loved the rumble in the game.
So, would you download it still without the rockin' rumbling?

I loved the SNES prequel to that game ... in the end I beat the middle route in about 15 minutes every time. I never played the N64 version though (well once at a display booth at some mall) and I might have considered buying it just to catch up on the hype but the VC is a pricy feature and I don't think I can afford that many games. I've already spent 20€ on Zelda:OoT and SMK64 and honestly it wasn't worth that for the latter. If they halved the prices for all games (N64=500/400, SNES=250/200 points and so forth) I'd surely get a few more but not with these prices.

I'll be buying StarFox 64 as soon as it is available. I loved the SNES version but I never really got a chance at the 64 game.
I see why they released OoT, but another game I'm really looking forward to is MM, simply because I haven't played it a bazillion times like OoT.

I would really want the motion sensing controls like Smooth Moves teased at in the Sketch Artist form mini-game! That got me really fired up!

I don't know about other people... but I really don't care if there is no rumble for Starfox 64. I actually recently played it on my 64, put a couple of *new* AAA batteries in my rumble pak, and during one of the middle stages, I realized it hasn't rumbled once. Truthfully, the only time I really like the rumble pak is during the explosion of the "fuel bunker on the right" if you hit all the switches in Macbeth. Of course, I still enjoyed the ridiculously long and big explosions (I basically memorized the timing of each event in the game in my younger years) and the last explosion with the 2D smoke clouds in the background when the team is regrouping...
Ahh, good times. I can't wait to see the secret weapon... I mean... for it to come out for VC!
I guess it's time for us to go now... I mean me, ME!! The script of that game is flooding back into my head -_-...

Why exactly would this play without the rumble? Admittedly, the Wavebird controller has no rumble capabilities, but that isn't the case for a regular gamecube controller. I bought two corded controllers just so I would have the rumble features.

I borrowed this game from my girlfriend and have since bought the entire series. p.s. I never used the rumble so I definitely won't miss it, but if it does rumble that will be great.

I never bought a rumble pack for my N64 so I won't miss it at all.

MM is actually the only N64 game i'll wind up buying, since i don't have the expansion pak for my N64, and i'm not going to go looking for one

I have this gut feeling the rumble is not going to work for VC version on the wii.

@Mr Khan,
Without the Expansion Pak you also missed Donkey Kong 64 and Perfect Dark, two of my favorite N64 games. DK64 should come out because Nintendo most likely owns the licenses instead of Rare (see: Donkey Kong Country). I'm not sure about PD, though, it is probably only a little more likely to appear on the VC than Goldeneye.
Anyway, I remember beating Majora's Mask over a three day weekend. It was a lot more frustrating than OoT but still a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to actually exploring the game more.

Doubt I'll buy it. Was a great game but I honestly wouldn't play it through more than once. Certainly wouldn't go through each path again. Fond memories though for sure.

Due to not owning a N64, I never got to play this game. I did however play the SNES version. This will be a must-buy.

The same people who say they don't care about the rumble in Starfox 64 are probably the same people who cried foul when Sony took out rumble for the PS3. I'm a Nintendo fanboy, don't get me wrong, I'm just speaking the ironic truth here.

This has been the main VC game I've been waiting for so far, and will be the first I buy. As for rumble, I will definitely be disappointed not to have it in this game, but not enough to avoid buying it. I must have this game.

If rumble can work in the Zelda games emulated on the GC, there's no reason that Nintendo couldn't fix this missing feature on the Wii. This is just laziness on their part.
