Without any kind of press release, we've been left in the dark for hours, waiting to see what Virtual Console games are available for download. Now that it is past the usual time games are available, we decided to hop on and check what's there for download. What we found surprised us, as two excellent titles are available in download, confirming previous rumors they would emerge on the service. Here's what is on your plate today:
- Beyond Oasis - Sega Genesis - 1 player - 800 Wii Points
- SPLATTERHOUSE - TurboGraphix16 - 1 player - 600 Wii Points
- Excitebike - NES - 1 player - 500 Wii Points
[Update: Nintendo sent word that Excitebike is also available. It was not live the time we checked.]
[Thanks, VidGuy!]

Wow, I had no idea Beyond Oasis was coming to the VC.
Grabbing both when I get the chance.

The arcade version of Splatterhouse was much better (more animation, meat cleaver, more gore, level 3's upside-down cross boss).

Just a heads up...Excitebike snuck in there as well. It's in the NES section with the games...but not in the New Releases for some reason.

Picked up Beyond Oasis and Splatterhouse. Figured everyone else loved 'em so much and I had nothing really to spend my points on...
Hell, you guys made me pick up Gunstar, too, and I was certainly not dissapointed.

Crappy Purple mask version of Splatterhouse?
I'll still buy it so it's more likely 2&3(the best) come on VC

I would SOO get Excitebike -- if I didn't already have it on the Gamecube version of Animal Crossing. (It's like a mini-virtual console, before there was a virtual console!)
Anyway, yay for Excitebike. I used to play that in the arcades even. Anybody else out there go to the create-a-track feature and spell out names and phrases with the "pieces" of track? Maybe that's just me...

not bloody likely. Excitebike is fun but not worth $5.

Yeah, where's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles? You posted it was released last Friday, but it's nowhere to be found.
BTW, Excitebike's been out for several days now, saw it earlier when hunting for TMNT.
