The Virtual Console is poised to become a lot more Sega ... ier? Sega has announced that they plan on bringing the Sega Genesis port of Virtua Fighter 2, along with Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle and Wonder Boy in Monster World. Each title is expected to go for 800 Wii Points each, the standard pricing for Sega Genesis titles on the Virtual Console.
Do we really want these games though? Perhaps they have an audience on the Virtual Console, but with the Sega Genesis port of Virtua Fighter 2 being, well ... less than enjoyable, we wonder if Sega loves us or merely hates us, as they wait to laugh maniacally at the silly folk who download this game expecting something else?

WHY do they keep doing things like this on the VC?? They should be giving us the arcade or Saturn version of VF2, and the Sega Master System versions of the other two. What's the deal?!

I'd rather have Virtua Fighter, the first one, which I originally owned on the 32X. It still have the cartride actually, but not the 32x... wonder what happened to it... I probably broke it while using it as a football... anyways, the point is Genesis VF2 totally sucks ass.

Someone needs to tell Sega to stop flooding the VC with crap. They have a much better back catalog than this.

As someone who has only ever played the (excellent) SMS version of Wonder Boy in Monster World and still remember the reviews from fifteen years ago, which were lambasting it and calling it a lousy adaptation of the Genesis version, I can guarantee that I will be downloading it on the first day of release.
Thank you, Sega!

I think this really shoots down the rumor of Saturn content on the VC
VF2 was the Saturn's top-selling title, why slap us with the downgraded 16-bit Cartridge version unless they had no plans to bring on the Saturn?

Wonder Boy in Monster World is a fantastic side-scrolling RPG. I highly doubt that even 10% of the people decrying Sega for spamming VC with crap (like Nintendo themselves haven't been doing that) have even played it or have any understanding whatsoever of what it's about.
