If you're already a Sims fan and interested in the unique look of the new Wii iteration, you will be pleased. We finally have some detailed video of the My Sims gameplay, and it looks quite similar to its predecessors, with some significant tweaks made in the "community" and "general cuteness" categories.
The first video shows the main gameplay-- setting up furniture, wandering about the little town, listening to music, and being a huge jerk to neighboring Sims. The second video details the character creation process, wherein your Sim waits very patiently for you to finish deciding what skin color to paint him or her. You can change your Sims' voices in this mode as well, and they provide voice samples by chatting in Simlish on their little cell phones while you adjust the voice with sliders. How novel! Of course, along with the return of Simlish comes another only-in-Sims kind of event: Simlish music, or the even darker side of EA Trax.
Unlike Sims, we can't turn your free will off, so we can only ask you to check out the two videos. We think they're worth your time anyway.

They're trying too hard to make it an Animal Crossing clone (probably to appeal to Nintendo gamers) IMO...
It'd probably be wiser just to wait for Nintendo to release the real deal

Khan: How are they trying too hard? I've played Animal Crossing on both the GCN and the DS, and I don't remember being able to do anything they did in those videos. I also recall Animal Crossing having a more diverse communications system, as opposed to,"Make fun of" and "Get angry at" bubbles.

Hmm, I didn't play any other Sims game and I feel like getting this one so I might, it's highly doubtful right now though.

I still dont know why they changed it from the original Sims. At the least Nintendo should let them use the Miis

I don't know why everyone wants the miis in this game so bad! This little guys are WAY cuter and nicer looking.
It would be cool, however, if you could hang a picture of your mii on the wall or something like that.

It's just bothering me, the Sims formula is fine, and this is just giving me the vibe of "different for the sake of different because its the Wii", like what lynch said...
And i don't think it's that Nintendo didn't let them use Miis, isn't there a SEGA made Pachinko game in Japan that's using them?

Totally agreed.
These are what I wish the Miis looked like, and there's clearly a much larger range of options for customizing characters in this game than there is with the Miis. If you ask me, Nintendo should have consulted EA before locking down the Mii channel. These little guys are great!
