We know lots of gamers who have pretty adamant stances either for or against certain retail outlets, so we thought it might be an appropriate bone upon which we could throw down this fine morning. Famous quote at an EBGames near here: "What's a GameCube?"
So yeah, I avoid that shop and it's dodgy practices.

Bought a XBox360 shortly after launch, that night red ring of death. Decided, hey lets wait until they fix this thing I want my money back (1 day after purchase with receipt) GameRush/Blockbuster has a no return policy. That gives me a no shop at GameRush/Blockbuster policy.

I dont really refuse to shop at any stores. But I have had really good experiences at a couple small independant shops. There is one close to my work that has great prices and they normally get new releases in very quickly. There is an EB games almost next to it and it recieves its new releases normally a couple days afterwards.

Meh, I'm not really picky. Some people seem to have a beef with GameStop/EB, but I don't see the cause. OK, they're way too pushy about reserving stuff, but just saying "No thanks" a couple of times isn't that hard. Best Buy, Circuit City, whatever... no matter where you go, at least 80% of the salespeople will be tired/bored/not give a shit, so I find that it doesn't make much difference. I had a roomate who worked at a Gamestop back in college, and he was one of the few who really seemed to be a "proper" gamer.
The only reason that EBGameStop sees so much of my business is that they're usually the most convenient way to buy used. Tycho's opinion (see last week's Penny Arcade rant) notwithstanding, I think used is a great deal -- somebody obviously didn't want it any more, and EB saves me the trouble of finding them on e.g. Craigslist or Ebay, and takes a cut (OK, a crazy amount of profit). It's not my fault that somebody was willing to fob off their copy of God of War for half its market value (or probably less); I get a good game at a fair price, and I get a return policy that's probably better than I would have with any private party.

Here in Australia, EBGames are basically a shrine to Microsoft, staffed by retards who have nought but contempt for the gaming community (a.k.a. their customers). I hate them with a passion, and have vowed never to cross their filthy threshold again.
That, and my local small franchise game store (called 'The Gamesmen') are both awesome, cheap, and run by gamers, so they get pretty much all my business. That and there's a new JB hifi store that's opened up recently, so they occasionally have some ridiculous good deals, and big Wii support.

Bout my wii online from Sam's club. It came bundled with Madden, Need for speed and Call of Duty (for like $380 plus tax and shipping). To make it even better, I went and returned Need and CoD for full price at my local Sam's :) While I have always considered Walmart/Sam's as the "evil empire", frankly my wii experience was excellent.

used to go anywhere, but now i can no longer shop at circuit city. they laid off 3,400 employees because they made to much money (but the nice people they are there offering to rehire them at a new lower wage). I mean c'mon how much money can you make at c.c. anyway $10.01/hr. ridonkulous. all so some ceo can have a gold-plated crack pipe.

I shop at my local gamestop for used gamecube games. If I wanted a Wii game, i would go to Specs (same as Fye), since they dont jip me of prices. If i were to go to gamestop for wiipoints, they would charge me 22.99 instead of 19.99. same for nunchuks. so i go to specs, since they sell at the real price. 20 for wii points, and 50 for games.
