Sure, it doesn't take Nostradamus to predict that the gaming world will be receiving Guitar Hero 3. Even with the popularity of the franchise, we have to be honest and say we didn't expect the franchise would be hitting the Wii and we certainly hoped that, if it were to happen, the Wii wouldn't receive just another port of Guitar Hero 2. Turns out, we all may be lucky come this Fall as, according to Red Octane's customer support website, the Wii (along with a bunch of other systems) will be receiving Guitar Hero 3.
For those about to rock, we salute you ...
Update: Red Octane has changed the information on their page, taking out the information about Guitar Hero 3.
[Thanks, Juan!]

I'm amazed this franchise is so popular. Fake guitar playing just doesn't appeal to me. Glad to hear about another Wii game though.

OK this is wicked news!
#3 have you played it? A lot of people look at it and go "MEH" - then they play it.

Got to remember that this is not going to be developed by Harmonix. Their next project will be the 360/PS3 title Rock Band.
I highly expect this title to not be up to the standard set by the first two. Also, I think that there will be a challenge developing for the Wii seeing as how most of the focus will go towards the 360/PS3 versions. I bet we'll see a port of the DS version, or, if it goes down, PS2 one. And the PS2 one already looks old after playing the 360.

dukemeiser, I don't know how to explain it either. I've played electric, acoustic, and classical guitar for 8 years, and I still LOVE popping in GH and shredding through a couple of tracks. It's a great game, and the Hard and Expert difficulties challenge even seasoned guitar players.
I'll be getting GH3 on the console that offers the best guitar controller. The 360 one is total crap compared to the original SG controller.

If Wii's service is as good as Xbox Live by then... Maybe this is good.. But DLC beat out... uh.. what would Wii add to the GH experince...

All I can say is that the controller had better be the "Flying Vii"

I actually want GH2 to be ported to the Wii, as I don't think I'll be getting a PS2 or 360 any time in the near future (waiting until either I get around to getting a job or somebody gives one to me), and it has some songs that I really want.

Yea, Guitar Hero on Wii... That's something I'll be putting on my wishlist. The only times I really get to play guitar hero is with random people, the most recent being with my girlfriend (I don't own a PS2, I let others own it and I'll play the great games off of them ;]).
And as for Wii, one of my roommates has not touched my Wii even once!! Though, I know he likes guitar hero, and this game will probably get him to finally play with it!!
In any case... Me getting guitar hero on Wii... Very bad for my health... That's a game I can play for hours on end.

Cool cool. I bought the 360 version but got a bum controller. I really hope the Wii one isn't as crappy. I disagree that the PS2 version looks "old" now. Graphics don't add all that much to rhythm games. The only thing that would be a letdown is if there are no newer downloable songs for the Wii version, which is probably going to be the case. :(

whoa buddy, are we talking about Guitar Hero or Legend of Fluffer: Twilight Penis? ;)
Sorry, no offense 11, Wii penis jokes never get old and neither does my mental level of humor.
That being said, I still love my Wii. Sometimes I love it several times a day.

Very cool. I originally went Meh to this title. Then I played it this weekend on the 360. Very addicting.
Should be easy to port to the Wii. The graphics are nothing special and shouldn't tax the Wii.
Looking forward to picking this up for my Wii.

Not sure what you are excited about. I clicked the link in the post above and there is nothing to indicate that the Wii is getting GH2 or GH3. It just lists release dates for GH2 on the PS2 and XBOX360.

They updated their post. It no longer refers to the wii. This was probably a mistake on the customer service's part. Granted that Guitar Hero is likely (in some form) to come to the Wii the fall deadline is a work of fiction.
