For those of you who're hyped to play through Resident Evil 4 for a third time, you might have been wondering exactly how the game controls will work. Thankfully, IGN has put up a diagram (which you can see above) explaining the exact controls. After looking them over for ourselves, we have one question: will we be able to move and aim at the same time? The little description for the "Remote Pointer" above seems to imply as much.

Could you move the camera on the GameCube version? I don't remember that. I don't think you can run and shoot, because you have to hold B before you can shoot - so it probably goes into the same stand-and-shoot mode that the R trigger activated on the GC. Everything else looks like it will work out - apparently you can play the game without any of the "waggle" that people are all up in arms about.
Looks like a nice use of the control, but since I've had the GC edition since its release and have beat it twice, I won't be picking this up. Now, if Capcom could use these controls and the RE4 engine to come up with a NEW RE game, I'd be buying.

It sounds like you hold the B button down to aim and push the A button to fire. I could be wrong.

I liked Metroid Prime's system. Fire whenever but to aim required holding your arm which almost limits your movement. Then with your aim you can lock on and strafe and all sorts of crazy moves like in 3D Zelda games. I can't handle dual sticks so I suck at the other consoles' controls and this system totally made up for that. My understanding was that RE:4 did something similar.

@#1 the "waggle" looks like the only way to reload and they are making a new RE game called umbrella chronicles

"Shake remote"... OMG. I thought everybody had already enough - in e.g. Rayman.
Why do we need to reload at all??... Another distraction. Gun reloading adds to game nothing - but is major PITA in any serious battle. Or am I missing something?
And why for attack I would need to hold *two* (A & B) buttons?? That's definitely look silly...

D-pad reloads
Umbrella Chronicles is rumored to be on rails, not like RE4
Reloading is normal and necessary
In all (?) Resident Evil games you have to use two buttons to shoot - one to raise your gun and another to fire. In RE4 on the GC, you use R trigger to raise your gun and A to fire. It's not any different than B+A on the Wii.

Why it is "normal"? "necessary" for what?
> Resident Evil games you have to use two buttons to shoot - one to raise your gun and another to fire.
Everybody talks about RE as a shooter. So why would I want in a shooter to have my gun lowered?
Just like reloading, another unnecessary distraction.
I kind of understand that game producers want to differentiate themselves from others - but sometimes it's going bit too far.
P.S. I have tried that "A + B" thing at home with WiiMote and have to say that targeting easily goes off when holding any of the buttons and then pressing another.

Reloading adds difficulty to the game. If you didn't have to reload, grab a rocket launcher and fire away forever. The point is that reloading balances the weapons and adds a realism to the game - you have to plan to reload. Show me one modern video game where, without cheats, you don't have to reload your weapons.
RE is definitely NOT a shooter. RE is about exploration, puzzles, collecting umpteen keys for umpteen doors, and standing your ground against a myriad of zombies, spiders, and other baddies. If your gun was always up the game would be MUCH different.
B+A shooting looks like it will work fine for me.

sigh... i hate that controller so much. its the dumbest thing i have ever seen. its seriously THAT stupid. people have the nerve to complain about the ps3 being 600 bucks... as if they arent getting there moneys worth in its amount of original games (drakes fortune is a prime example) yet they have no problem in buying a system named after a mans genital... sense people, please make some.
and microsoft, keep trying to steal our games you copy cat losers... whats gonna happen when heavenly sword, drakes fortune and god of war 3 comes out? its made by sony, you cant steal those... it looks like... why yes... YOUR GONNA HAVE TO MAKE A GAME BESIDES HALO!!!!! GASP! think you can do it? i doubt it. gears of war blows, only games that last longer then 48 minutes count.
