Remember when we asked if you were going to get that Nyko Charge Station? Perhaps you were waiting to see more on it before deciding to purchase or leaving it sit on the shelf? Well, the fine folks over at Wii.tv have gone ahead and put up a video review of the product up on their site. Or, you can check out the video past the post break.

I bought one at my local EB Games last week, and it was only $30 CAD. I wonder where they pulled $40 from...
But yeah, I truly recommend it. You can consistently keep your controllers charged, and the grip on the back plate is a very welcome addition.

I got one of these at Circuit City a few weeks ago (for about $30 I think)...and I like it...probably more than I should...but that is beside the point.
They do not throw off the balance of the Wii Remote at all...and they look pretty cool. I like the rubberized grips, but I am a little concerend about sweat condensation on the contacts for the batteries. I have noticed that when I use these for long periods of time (like more than 1 hour) there is some moisture droplets on the contacts. Not too big of a deal..and certainly not a deal breaker, but I am concerend that this may corrode the 'gold' contacts over time.
The only other issue, is that the contacts on 1 of the 2 batteries in the package had a little residue of plastic on it, and it did not want to make contact with the base station. I fixed this with my fingernail, and it has not been an issue since.

Was it pretty easy for you guys to find? None of the Gamestops in my area seem to have 'em.

I bought the non-nyko, single charging dock from amazon for like 17 plus shipping. It looks sleeker than the nyko one, but only charges one at a time. It has a bright blue light on the front, showing that it's charging the remote. However when it's full, it flashes, and that gets annoying. . .especially in a dark room.
But at least it's cheaper than batteries.

It still seems overpriced. Rechargeable 4 NiMH batteries + dock = ~$15.

I got one yesterday. like it a lot. Payed $30US for it at the Hollywood video place (whatever it's called) I thought I'd hate the grips, but I really like 'em. I did take of the straps (don't tell) as they seemed to make it kind of difficult to seat the remotes in the dock. Now I'm bummed that I don't have a neat place to put the nunchuck dealies.

I just got this yesterday and I love it already. It charged my wiimotes in about two-three hours and the straps aren't hard to deal with. On each side of the station there are small niches to put the strap into. It kind of makes the straps hang out, but it isn't an eyesore. The bottom is rubberized so if you have a slick surface, you won't have it sliding all over the place on you when you try and put the wiimote in the stand. Definatly worth the thirty bucks I paid for it at Wal-Mart no doubt. I have three wiimotes though, so one will have to stay on batteries, but that isn't a big deal, I am the only one who usually plays it at any given time, so its all good.

This charging dock is CRAP. I've gone through two of these things so far. The first one I got, both batteries died after only a couple days of use, then they started to smell and burn and stop charging any longer. I got another one and one of the batteries didn't even work at all? Thumbs down for me, I'm going to look at another charging dock solution. Maybe someone has recommendations?

I have the Nyko charger, and it rocks! The batteries last for a long time, and the gripped battery cover makes using the remote much more enjoyable. The batteries don't take that long to charge, and it looks great in my cabinet. The only down sides are the cost ($30) and the charger prongs don't touch as well with the new wrist straps.

I bought this item at amazon for $30 US as well. when i reieved it in the mail i was eager to install the battery packs. i did so and charged them fully to find that the did not work. my wiimote would not turn on. after a while of messing with them i foudn that they only did not work in my wiimotes that were old, i have 2 old and 2 newer motes. i was going to buy a second dock, but now that i know that it wont work i was wondering if there is a way i could exchange my old wiimotes for new ones? (new motes have a disposal warning printed in grey on the side, old ones don't)

Mine seemed to charge but when wiggling the Wiimote, the battery would cut in and out. I'm guessing the battery inside the Wiimote isn't shaped perfectly enough. I tried both batteries in either Wiimote and have had no luck. Sadly, I threw out the packaging (mail order from Best Buy) and Nyko's site has no support for the product yet.
