Every now and then, we just have to ask -- if you've been looking for a Wii, have you found one yet? Have you given in to bundles just to get it over with? Give us a status update! And in general, we'd love to hear about demand where you are. Are random people (read: not gamers) still crowing about the Wii where you live? Have the shortages seemed to have an affect -- good or bad -- on the desires of the masses? Some people think the demand will wear down eventually, but the commercials and word of mouth seem to be fueling a continued momentum.

.........still looking :( It's madness here, even leaving the house at 5 am, you can't get one. Stupid Toronto. The one time I was higher in a line than 21st was when I was 6th at a Zellers. They had 3 units, on the day before Christmas.

Have the Wii-less considered the alternatives (eBay and Craigslist)?
I bought my Wii from Craigslist for $290. With Los Angeles sales tax, I would have paid $270 retail. So, for only $20 over retail I got one without having to wait in line or wait more months.

I was able to find one by sheer luck on Friday. The guy at gamestop said that they were expecting some wii's in from UPS just after 12:00. We have two gamestop's with in a mile of each other here. I went into the other gamestop and they had the wii in stock so I bought one. My heart was pounding. Everyone was mad at me for spending over half my paycheck, but I am glad I bought it. They are out there, it just helps if your gamestop employees are nice and half way like you. I work at major un-named blue shirted retailer and when people came in looking for Wii's I would call and send customers to those gamestop's. They were out VERY quick. They also said it would be about 3 more weeks before they got any more in. I have been working at mentioned place for over 3 months now and have not seen one Wii at work...not a single one!

I live in nyc. It's still hard to find one. The Toys R' Us in Times Square usually gets a bunch but I hate waiting in lines. I gave in to a bundle. I got mine a month ago online from walmart.com. It came with the system, 7 games, and an accesory. It let me choose the games i wanted from a list so i wasn't forced to get the games they wanted me to have like gamestop does. I picked 7 games which i was planning on buying anyways if I got the system. The accesory was a horrible stand which I just returned as soon as I got for a full refund. I used that money for a classic controller. Bundle or not I would have bought the same things so I didn't mind. And I didn't have to wait in line.

Longtime lurker here...
Anyways, still looking as well. I've only see Wii's in store once (Wally world) since launch. Haven't seen any since. Of course haven't been hardcore looking either.
Waiting on the black model... :)

Finally decided to jump on craigslist to find mine after looking since launch here in Phoenix, AZ. Got the Wii (with sports), Marvel, Zelda, Zelda Collectors hint guide, Rampage, and a black sleeve for the 'mote and 'chuck, for $380. Actually saved some money vs buying it retail.

People in my area are starting to get angry about the lack of availability. There aren't any Wiis ANYWHERE that you can get without insider knowledge/camping (I got mine by camping out at a Target) and a lot of people who wanted to get Wiis originally are deciding that it just isn't worth it and are loosing interest overall.

Here in Las Vegas is hard to find one. Gamestop, Wal-Mart and Best Buy apparently all refer to each other when they sell out. (I live in an area where they all exist less than 5 miles from each other). My birthday is coming and I want one but I guess I'll just have wait and see. Also, the frustration factor has skyrocketed a fair bit I think. All that software and accessories and no systems to show for it. Some young couple was in Best Buy and the girl (round 27-30) was REAL upset she couldn't get one. And everyone was around the Nintendo aisle like vultures. I hope to get MUA,Godfather, SPM for my Wii along the PM:TYD and Baten Kaitos (skipped GC).

I broke down and ordered a bundle deal (Wii, extra remote, 2GB SD card) last week when it showed up on The Source's website. It arrived today! So I've finally joined the ranks of the Wii owners. Now I just have to get through the rest of the day at work so I can get home to set this puppy up!

I live in the UK and desperately wanted a Wii for a while. But shops would never have firm stock dates or pre-orders, so the web was the place to go.
In some very random google searches, I found this http://www.wii-consoles.co.uk/wii_console_realtime.asp
Basically a guy goes around the different websites and searches for places that have the Wii in stock. A week before last Friday, I blipped up and alerted me that some stock was up on Amazon.co.uk (actual Amazon stock, not the overpriced Marketplace).
I whizzed down my credit card details as fast as I could, and sealed myself a Wii. I have to say that they were all gone within 15 minutes, if that. I ordered it on the Friday, the kind ParcelForce man gave it to me on Monday.
I'm really pleased with my Wii now, and consider myself lucky to find one with all the shortages. I'm really impressed with Amazon though, for a prompt delivery (only £1 postage and packing).

Amazon here in the UK had 100+ Wiis in stock at about 3pm, they were all gone in 10 minutes or so.

Been trying to get my hands on one since launch. Several times I've been number twenty one in line when they report there are only twenty units available. This is after waiting in the cold for several hours at the crack of dawn of course. I've come close to giving in and buying a 360 many times, but I'm still holding out for Nintendo.

Mine is a tale of the most fortunate moments. Parents need to stop in at Canadian Tire or some such. Loblaws PhotoCenter just next door, figured I'd pop in and see if there were any DS games on the cheap. As I'm browsing the display I hear a seventy year old woman telling the clerk she'd called and been told that they got Wii's in. I did about the fastest 180 you've ever seen and lo and behold there was a pair of them behind the register. I'd walked right by them without noticing! Now its a good thing those ladies only wanted one because I was ready to duke it out for the second one. Got my Wii December 28th 2006 in a grocery store. :D
Seriously though, its ridiculous that we're getting up on 5 months since launch and dedicated gamers still can't find one. Around here I think the bulk of demand has been satisfied but big cities seem to be having real trouble. Ahh well it'll get better.

I live in NYC... Nintendo World here gets new stock every day (50-100). I got to the store at 7:45, waited in line for an hour and after the store opened I got a Wii! Definitely the easiest place to get one that I've heard of... if you don't mind waking up too early.
