Hmm... I wonder if you can do a two-on-two with your partner sitting next to you, and your opponents over wifi.

I wondered how long the battles would be. I dunno if this is too long or not.

It's definately going to use its own friend code rather than the Wii number, but I suspect it may be related to your Pokemon Diamond/Pearl Friend Code, which would explain the difference (after all, why would your DS game know what your Wii number is?)

some of those effects were cool.
I especially loved when the water was dripping down off the lens after the wave crashed down and hit the camera.

Sweet, announcer guy from the Pokemon Stadium games will be back. I wonder if they will get the guy who did the voice for those games for this game. Battle sequence is a lot cooler too.

Damnit, they promised the movements wouldn't suck this time round. They lied! They're still frozen on one spot standing there all boring. Would it have killed them to do some dodging and chasing between move selections? Some facial expressions?! More than just being knocked back every now and then? And the camera work hasn't improved much from the Stadium games.
They need to figure out that what works on the handheld games doesn't work on a console game. All this says to me is that they improved the sparkles since last time. I'm disappointed.

Yea, I've seen countless videos of Pokemon Battle Revolution on Youtube. One of the best looking Wii games to date...
I got Pokemon Diamond yesterday... and the disappointing thing is that you absolutely need a friend code to even do anything online. No trading with random people, and no battling with random people...
From the videos of PBR that I've seen, it looks like you can battle random people online, so I will have to get this game if that's true. Ugh... Friend codes are good security, but they are so limiting...

I think you need to progress in the game and earn random battles and random auctions. Like in GSC you need to progress to a certain city and event before trading backwards to RBY. And in Fire Red Leaf Green needed to beat the Elite Four before activating the new pokedex for GSC evolutions.

What tha' hell is that loading time EVERY now and then? It's frustranting to say the least. The panoramic view of the arena is the load time, by the way.
Nintendo is really trying NOT to use online games. If this is happening with such a slow game like Pokemon what can we expect from, lets say, a FPS online?
Damn Nintendo, i love you but you can be so low-tech sometimes (i.e. The eternal NO supply chain for Wii systems).

@11:
That 'loading time' is actually when the opponent is deciding on the move to make. I was surprised at how smooth ly the battle goes.
