All those Wii and DS profits must have been burning a hole in Nintendo's pocket, because they went developer shopping and picked up Monolith Soft. We guess they really liked that one screenshot of Disaster: Day of Crisis.Monolith Soft is responsible for the reviled Xenosaga series (the Japanese limited edition release of Xenosaga II included the unfortunate figurine seen here, nicknamed MOK-KOS), the crossover strategy game Namco X Capcom, and, in conjunction with Tri-Crescendo, the two Baten Kaitos games. Maybe now we'll get that pseudo-religious science-fiction Kirby RPG we've all been waiting for!

I can only dream that an RPG as awesome as Xenosaga/gears will grace the plateform that is the Wii.

More Xenosaga and Baten Kaitos games are good. Also this could be similar to Retro Studios where they handed them Metroid and made them a top notch first party studio. Also since they're second party now, Xeno and Baten characters for SBBB!

I don't believe Monolith Soft owns the rights to Xenosaga. I'm sure Namco gets to keep that one. However, I'm sure Namco would still work with Nintendo if need be.
Actually, I was almost pissed, because I thought they meant "MONOLITH" (http://www.lith.com/games.asp), not Monolith soft. Thankfully 'lith will still pump out the quality games they have for years.
I really want to see more Xenosaga....whether on Wii or not!

Like SuicideNinja, I thought this was referring to the other developer. I'm personally uninterested with either of their games, but this is still great news for the Wii's line-up. I expected the Wii to be suffering in the genre.

Reviled? You don't mean much loved and acclaimed? Keep personal bias out of newsposts, especially when it's such stupid personal bias.

Wow, look at that. Metacritic says they got pretty good scores. I guess I was letting my bias from actually having played them get in the way.
