If this were anything but a Wii shirt, we might make some crack about objectifying women or stereotyping, or any number of -isms, because we're against badness in general. But we have to forgive this one, because frankly, the joke was begging to be made, and Nerdy Shirts gets a gold star for simplicity in presentation. Besides, a well-used dose of humor makes almost anything okay, as all of our favorite comedians have proved time and time again. Of course, not everyone will feel that way -- so feel free to let us know if you think this take on the Mii phenomenon is over the line.[Thanks, Mike!]

Joking, the origin of love you long time quote is from Full Metal Jacket and had a huge impact on western culture, It's one of the greatest movie quotes from the 80s popularized by a famous rap group during the 90s. But now, it became offensive when dumb adolescent kids started butchering it and ultimately stereotyped asian women by it, it's hilarity has faded a long time ago.

t if that offends you, you need to get some thicker skin. Seriously, oh no, they are using a line from a movie, spoken by an Asian actress portraying a prostitute. This isn't a slight against Asians, its a quote from a movie, that portrayed a prostitute with very poor English telling solders she would satisfy them for a long time. If your going to be offended by something it should be something a little more offensive then a movie quote being used to show someones love for gaming.

Not only is it making fun of the Vietnamese hooker joke of saying in bad English "Me love you long time" and combines it with the pun of Mii which itself is a pun of me and fits into Wii's style of togetherness; but it also makes fun of the system it's on the Wii and using the caricature Mii taking a non-family friendly turn. When it comes down to it this is an ugly shirt with a bad joke. If it had been a picture of the Wii console with a Wiimote next to it I think it would have been more creative and a lot funnier without needing to enter into the world of potential racism. You've also got to take into account that anyone who isn't VERY FAMILIAR with the Wii isn't going to know what Miis are, and is going to think that this is just a t-shirt with a cartoon asian prostitute.
OFFICIAL VERDICT: Bad Idea.
And considering how bad of an idea this shirt is I'm surprised that it wasn't put together by Sony's marketing team as part of their goat-slaughtering-crying-baby-fake-blog Playstation campaign.
