If you dig games from
Konami, than this week's offerings on the
Virtual Console are sure to tickle your fancy. Personally, one of our favorite games of all time is available this week and it's not the title you may think it is. Without further ado, here's what you can get your hands on:
- Castlevania (NES, 1 player, 500 Wii Points)
- The Legend of the Mystical Ninja (Super NES, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points)
- Shockman (TurboGrafx16, 1-2 players, 600 Wii Points)
In case you were wondering, that game we love so much is
The Legend of the Mystical Ninja. That little
Goemon is such a hoot! We can still remember getting the game on our birthday, squealing with joy as we inserted it into our
SNES. Of course, be sure to stop back later for our video wrap-up.

Mystical Ninja is my favorite game of all-time. When I your post about popping it in on your birthday, it was Deja Vu. Can't wait to play Pong and other classics at the carnival level!

Is this becoming the standard now, to make all links inside a blog post refer back to the blog? Just once I'd like to click on a link and have it send me to wikipedia or the game's website.

LotMN is a great game -- probably one of the top 5 on SNES for multiplayer fun. If you could play this using only a Wii Remote, it would be perfect.
I better see a "download" in tonight's wrap-up!

Hellz yeah! Mystical Ninja was my first exposure as a kid to ninja outside of the turtle kind. Still have great memories of that game as well as others in the series.
AND Castlevania! Hot damn.

Awesome. VC needs more gems like Mystical Ninja. Castlevania hasn't aged half-bad, either.

Don't purchase Castlevania on the VC. If you have a decent Wintel computer:
http://www.amazon.com/Castlevania-Contra-Collectors-Collection-Games/dp/B000JU2VYY/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/104-0496775-4031928?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1177958357&sr=8-1
I've seen it at my local Toys 'R' Us for approx. $5.

But some of us want it on our Wii.
Like me.
Because I love it.

The PC collection is okay, but despite being emulated, it's FAR from perfect. There are serious control issues, and I swear the colors are off.
But however you get Castlevania I, GET CASTLEVANIA.
