An expert team of historians and sociologists have finished their initial research, and have determined that Shigeru Miyamoto is the 9th most influential person of the year. We're totally kidding about the experts and the research-- it was just a web poll.
Rather than taking the time to go down the top 8 and make fun of them, we'll leave the baffling revelation of who made the cut as an exercise for you. You'll be surprised, and kind of confused! Maybe even a little disgusted!

That's a popularity poll if I've ever seen one! Shiggy was number 1 and number 2 for a long time, too bad it didn't hold up. Good thing he made the top 10. Congrats, Mr. Miyamoto!

I think offended and disgusted is right. How can so many people who barely have a highschool education be considered most influential? It sickens me. It really does.
But, Go Miyamoto Go! I voted for him, and I ranked him incredibly highly.

KIEFER SUTHERLAND being influential?! That's right. He influenced me to stop bombs, and drag an entire day over 12 one hour episodes, spread over 8 weeks.
Lame. Popularity contest... almost like something from Myspace.

So do Koreans just do everything TO THE EXTREME! on the internet or something? Half of WoW players are Korean, they typically go on 24-hour cyber cafe benders, they have complex MMO gold-mining operations, and of course they band together to make one of their dumbass popstars the most influential person in the world. Somebody just needs to take them innernets away from these people.
